SUGGESTED PROGRAM: COTN DAY OF PRAYER – SUNDAY 14 SEPT 2014

The following are merely suggestions and guidelines surrounding the theme for our COTN Day of Prayer, please feel free to use as much or as little of these as you led to do:

Open service as normal

1. Prayer Day Coordinator (MC) starts event with (holding slide) on screens.

“As most of you know we as a church belong to a bigger family of churches called Church of the Nations. COTN has influence in over 50 nations around the globe. Today all over the world COTN churches are uniting in prayer and spirit.”

“Our theme for this year is EMBRACING THE GENERATIONS AND CHANGING TIMES”

2. Prayer Day Coordinator (MC) to reiterate the theme and key scriptures again

“There is no doubt that within our COTN family, yet not just confined to us but also the body of Christ at large, that there is a shifting on the earth, both in the natural and in the Spirit realm. Wherever one looks there seems to be change, be they socio economic, political, boundaries of nations, or spiritual, there is a seismic shift taking place. 

All this is very exciting, as this change brings with it a 'celebration of the generations'. As such, we have chosen the theme; 'Embracing the Generations…..and Changing Times'.

Key Scriptures:Matt 13:52b “The kingdom of heaven is like a head of a household, who brings out of his treasure things NEW and OLD”.Also.

Psalm 145:4 One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.

3. Break up into small groups or appoint specific people to pray. Please note that there are 19 Prayer Points in total and you would need to use your own discretion as to how to get through all of them. Again we emphasize you adjust according to your celebration time.

4. Prayer Points: (All these slides can be downloaded from the COTN Website)

•Ask the Holy Sprit to allow your hearts to be open to any change He may be wanting to bring to your circumstance, no matter how radical.

•Ask the Lord to show our people how they can make a difference for the Kingdom, in their ‘mountain of influence’ (realm), particularly where significant change has occurred over the past year.

•Thank the Lord for the Fathers (and Mothers) who have pioneered and carried the torch, for that, in which we now live.

•Ask that they would remain fruitful, also that the values and work of their hands will stand.

•Thank the Lord for being a ‘Way Maker’, a life giver and sustainer throughout the decades.

•Thank the Lord for helping the Fathers in the pioneering of our values and principles, influence and presence into well over 120 nations.

•Thank the Lord for the tens of thousands who have come to salvation and been empowered by the baptism of the Holy Spirit over the past 35 years.

•Thank the Lord for the Sons (and Daughters) who have, and are rising up to the challenge, of carrying the torch… and declaring it to the ‘next generation’. Pray for wisdom and anointing for them.

•Ask for a full anointing and empowering of the Holy Spirit for them, that they may be those ‘who are led by the Spirit.’

•Intercede for them to be strong, fearless and emboldened, and to continually break their hearts for the lost.

•Pray that they might have a full grasp of complete Kingdom life and seek to change their world.

•Ask that they will be pioneers, and refuse to be settlers in a needy world, never accepting mediocrity.

•Give them a voice, and allow them courage to stand against compromise and the powers of darkness. Help them never to cave in to popular opinion, where sin and compromise are considered socially acceptable.

•Pray for the nations where governments and boarders are being re-defined, that the witness of God’s word will be protected.

•Intercede for the Christians in Arab countries (particularly in Iraq) who are currently persecuted and dying for their faith.

•Cry out for those countries who still have no freedom to worship Christ in liberty and freedom.

•Ask that you will have a fresh encounter of the Holy Spirit for your church and domain and that once again we will experience a fresh outpouring of His fire, presence and grace.

•Pray for Church of the Nations as the Apostolic Clusters, Churches and Ministries take hold of this time of Embracing Generations and Changing Times.

•Pray for the COTN Apostolic Council for strategy, protection, wisdom and guidance in the outworking of the above.

5. Thank you for uniting in Prayer and standing in the gap with the Church of the Nations family in this time of Embracing Generations and Changing Times.
