- NCHRP Projects Example: Program Focus: Highways, including
intermodal & multimodal State funded program; state DOTs,
AASHTO committees, & FHWA can submit research ideas. Research
ideas are due September 15 th of each year. Research ideas are
reviewed by NCHRP staff, FHWA, AASHTO committees, and possibly
other groups.

- NCHRP Projects Example: Late Dec./Early Jan. research ideas and
reviews are sent for rating (due mid-Feb.) to: AASHTO Standing
Committee on Research (SCOR) AASHTO Research Advisory Committee
(RAC) Members of both of these groups can be found at
research.transportation.org. AASHTO SCOR makes project funding
recommendation (March) to the AASHTO Board of Directors (BOD).
