NOTICE
Sub: Online submission of forms for X/XII Private Examination 2018
The Online submission of form by the candidates placed in the category NIOP(Class X), FAIL/COMPARTMENT(Class XII) and those who wish to appear for improving their performance or for an additional subject as Private candidate for the examination scheduled to be held in March 2018 has been started.
Eligibility, Fee, detailed procedure of submitting online application is described in
the Annexures. Students/Parents are advised to go through the eligibility and detailed procedure before applying.
Details in respect of students who have appeared in the Board examination held
in 2017 examination will be auto-generated in the online system. However, Candidates of 2016 (or prior) will need to submit the details on the online application form. If a candidate makes wrong entries in his/her application form or gives false statement or produces false document, his/her form shall be rejected and fee paid shall be forfeited.
In pursuance of Circular No. 05/2017 dated 31.01.2017, CBSE will conduct
Class X private examination for 80 marks (for Theory) in each subject covering 100% syllabus of the subject of class X only. The students who have been declared as EIOP/NIOP in Board (SA-2) examination 2017/ earlier will need to give 2018 examination (covering entire class X syllabus) according to revised pattern.
For the Private examination- 2018, controlling region for the candidate will
be decided by the online system based on the current residential address entered by the applicant in the online system. For example: if candidate has appeared in class XII main examination from Varanasi (Regional Office Allahabad) and is now residing at Jaipur, the centre of examination will be allotted under the jurisdiction of Regional Office, Ajmer if the candidate writes his residential address as Jaipur. However, eligibility of such a case for appearing in examination will be decided by the RO Allahabad.
As per the eligibility notified for JEE-2018, candidates desirous of seeking
admission in IITs/NITs/IIITs/other CFTIs should have scored 75 % (65 % For SC/ST candidates) or in top 20 percentile of XII Examination held in 2016/ 2017. Therefore, the candidates of 2016/2017 desiring to appear in the Improvement examination may apply for one or more subjects in which he/she had appeared in Main Examination of class 12th in 2016/2017.

It has been observed that some students complete the online entry of application
but do not deposit fee. If fee is not sent/deposited by applicant by last date, his/her application will be rejected without any notice.
Mere submission of form and fee will not confer a right on candidate for appearing in the examination. His/her eligibility will depend upon the fulfilment of the eligibility conditions prescribed by the Board.
Parents/Candidates may note that ink signed copy of confirmation page
alongwith enclosures are to be submitted to the concerned Regional Office as per Office address given in confirmation page. Candidature of applicants not submitting the confirmation page will be rejected.

A. FOR ALL INDIA SENIOR SCHOOL CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION (CLASS XII)
CATEGORY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
FULL SUBJECT (5/6 SUBJECTS)
Candidate who has been declared as FAIL at the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (Class XII)
OR
Teacher serving in educational institution affiliated to the Board and has qualified Class X or an equivalent examination in 2016 or earlier
OR
Candidate who had completed regular course of studies and had been allotted Roll No. for appearing at AISSCE examination but could not appear for the Class XII examination due to medical reasons except shortage of attendance
COMPARTMENT (1 SUBJECT) Candidate applying under COMPARTMENT category cannot apply for appearing in Additional subject together.
Candidate placed under as COMPARTMENT in March 2017 and July 2017 to apply only in the subject in which he/she has been placed in Compartment. Candidate applying under COMPARTMENT category cannot apply for appearing in Additional subject together. Such candidates who have been placed in compartment in one subject may also apply for appearing in same 5/6 subjects in which he/she had appeared in March 2017 examination. Such candidates should select their category as FAILURE while applying online.
IMPROVEMENT OF PERFORMANCE Candidate applying for Improvement of Performance cannot apply for appearing in Additional subject together.
Only such Candidate who has passed the examination of the Board in 2017 can apply in 2018 for Improving his/her performance in one or more subjects provided he/she should have appeared and passed in the same subjects in the examination held in March 2017.
Candidate who has passed Class XII under vocational stream in 2016 can also apply for improving his/her performance in the examination to be held in 2018 provided he/she has not availed the chance in 2017.
Candidate who has passed the examination of the Board in 2016 and willing to appear in JEE (Main)- 2018 can also apply in 2018 for Improving his/her performance in one or more subjects provided he/she should have appeared in these subjects in the examination held in March 2016.
Special Instruction for JEE Aspirants:. As per the eligibility notified for JEE-2018 candidates desirous of seeking admission in IITs/NITs/IIITs/other CFTIs should have scored 75 % (65 % For SC/ST candidates) or in top 20 percentile of XII Examination held in 2016/ 2017. B. FOR DELHI SENIOR SCHOOL CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION(CLASS XII)
CATEGORY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
FULL SUBJECT (5/6 SUBJECTS) .
Candidate who has been declared as FAIL at the Delhi Senior School Certificate Examination(Class XII) OR Teacher serving in educational institution affiliated to the Board and has qualified Class X or an equivalent examination from any
recognized Board in 2016 or earlier. Such candidate shall apply the form online and sent to the CBSE as mentioned in this circular. Besides, they will also sent their application through proper channel alongwith confirmation page with a certificate by the Head of School in which they are serving, duly countersigned by the Director of Education of the State/Union Territory concerned in which the teacher is serving to the Regional Office of the Board concerned in which the school is situated. OR Women candidate who is a bonafide resident of the National Capital Territory of Delhi and has qualified Class X or an equivalent examination from any recognized Board in 2016 or earlier. Women candidates who are bonafide residents of the National Capital Territory of Delhi; and satisfy the following additional conditions:- (a) that they have privately pursued the prescribed course of study under proper guidance; and (b) that they are unable to join a Senior Secondary School affiliated to the Board or there are such other reasons compelling them to appear at the examination as a private candidate. (Refer to Affidavit format attached)
Note: Women candidate applying under this category cannot take subjects involving practical component. However they can take Home Science with practical. OR Physically Handicapped student who has qualified Class X or an equivalent examination from any recognized Board in 2016 or earlier on producing reasonable evidence of having difficulty to attend normal institutions in the subjects not involving practical training/examination. Medical category in this regard will be required to be uploaded. OR Regular candidate who had completed regular course of studies and had been allotted Roll No. for appearing for the Class XII examination but could not appear at the Annual Examination due to medical reasons except shortage of attendance
COMPARTMENT (1 SUBJECT) Note: Candidate applying under COMPARTMENT category cannot apply for appearing in Additional subject together.
Candidate placed under COMPARTMENT category in March 2017 and July 2017 to apply only in the subject in which he/she has been placed in Compartment. Candidate applying under COMPARTMENT category cannot apply for appearing in Additional subject together. Such candidates who have been placed in compartment in one subject may opt for appearing in same the 5/6 subjects afresh in which he/she had appeared in March 2017 examination. Such

Teacher serving in educational institution affiliated to the
Board. Such candidate shall apply the form online and sent to the CBSE as mentioned in this circular. Besides, they will also sent their application through proper channel alongwith confirmation page with a certificate by the Head of School in which they are serving duly countersigned by the Director of Education of the State/Union Territory concerned in which the teacher is serving to the Regional Office of the Board concerned in which the school is situated. OR Women candidate who is a bonafide resident of the National Capital Territory of Delhi and has attained the age for appearing in Class X

(i) if would have appeared through a school as a regular candidate; OR
(ii) one year after passing Class IX and two years after passing Class VIII as a regular candidate AND
(iii) satisfy the following additional conditions:-
(a) that She has privately pursued the prescribed course of study under proper guidance; and
(b) that She is unable to join a Secondary School affiliated to the Board or there are such other reasons compelling her to appear at the examination as a private candidate.

GENERAL INFORMATION APPLICABLE BOTH FOR X AND XII 1. Candidate will have to send Photostat copy of the Marksheet/Grade sheet cum Certificate of
Performance of the Roll No. filled in the application form and copy of e-challan/DD alongwith the
confirmation page to the concerned Regional Office. Fresh female candidate appearing under
Delhi Scheme will also have to send the Affidavit.
2. Examination centre once allotted will be final and no request for change of examination centre will
be attended to. Examination centre will be allotted by the Board based on the current residential
address of applicant.
3. Aadhar number field provided is mandatory. Wherever Aadhar number is not available; Aadhar
enrolment number can be provided. Residents of Indian states where Aadhar enrolment is not
being done may provide Bank details in lieu of Aadhar.
4. Candidates will be able to apply only for subjects which are auto generated in the system. In case
there is any subject which is not in the auto-generated system and applicant want to apply in that
subject, they should give such request to the Regional Office by Speed Post along with Fee and
other documents required. However candidature of such candidates will be subject to availability
of that subject and eligibility.
5. Fresh (New) Roll Number will be allotted by the Board for the candidate appearing in 2018. In no
case the candidate will be allowed to appear with the previous year’s Roll No.
6. Admit Card:
(a) For other than Delhi region
Candidates will be able to download the Admit Cards from the website of CBSE www.cbse.nic.in
in the month of Feb 2018.
(b) For candidates of Delhi region
Intimation letter will be uploaded on the website of CBSE in respect of eligible candidates only in
the month of Jan/Feb 2018. Centre of Examination and date sheet is indicated in the intimation
letter. Such candidate can thereafter collect Admit card from the allotted examination centre.
7. Declaration of Result
Result will be declared on the website of CBSE during the month of May/Jun 2018.
8. Issue of Marksheet/Certificate Class X
a) Marksheet/Gradesheet will be issued to the candidates in the month of Jun/Jul 2018.
b) Only single document “Gradesheet cum qualifying certificate” is issued by CBSE.
c) Original mark-sheet and certificate of previous year examination is not to be surrendered to the
CBSE.
d) Candidate appearing for Upgrading of Performance(Class X) and Additional subject will be issued
a separate fresh Gradesheet reflecting the grades of IOP 2018 examination only.
9. Issue of Marksheet/Certificate Class XII
a) Marksheet/Gradesheet will be issued to the candidates in the month of Jun/Jul 2018.
b) Original mark-sheet and certificate of previous year examination is not to be surrendered to the
CBSE.
c) Candidate appearing for Improvement of Performance (Class XII) will be issued a separate fresh
mark-sheet reflecting the marks of IOP 2018 examination only. No fresh Certificate will be issued to
the candidate appearing under the categories IMPROVEMENT OF PERFORMANCE(CLASS XII AND
ADDITIONAL SUBJECT.
d) Consolidated marksheet will be issued only to such candidate who appear and pass the Comptt.
Examination in 2018.
10. Dispatch of original of Marksheet/Certificate Class X/XII
(a) For other than Delhi region
Gradesheet is sent by CBSE to the examination centre of the candidate/to the residential address
of applicant by Speed Post.
(b) For candidates of Delhi region
Marksheet/Certificate is sent by CBSE to the examination centre of the candidate. Candidate can
collect the document from the centre on production of original admit card.
11. Candidate will be examined only in the Syllabus as prescribed for the year of Examination. The
Student must go through the eligibility and pass criteria as well as current curriculum and scheme of

Instructions to fill Online Private Application form
Note: Candidate details in respect of students who have appeared in the Board examination held in 2017 examination will be auto-generated in the online system. Candidates of 2016 (or prior) will need to submit the details on the online application form.
Put correct combination of your Roll number, School number and Centre number (as given in your mark
sheet) of Board Examination.
In case wrong details are filled the application will be processed and error message will be displayed.
Student can fill only one application form. In case your application is already submitted you will not be
allowed to apply again.
Name, Father’s name, Mother’s name will be auto generated.
Applicant will be required to provide contact number, email ID and address. Phone number should be of
10 digits and should contain numbers only.
Region will be automatically generated based on the current residential address. For the Private
examination- 2018, controlling region for the candidate will be decided by the online system based on the
current residential address entered by the applicant in the online system. For example: if candidate has
appeared in class XII main examination from Varanasi (Regional Office Allahabad) and is now residing at
Jaipur, the centre of examination will made in the jurisdiction of Regional Office, Ajmer if the candidate

Applicant need to upload scanned jpg files of their Photo and signature not exceeding 40 KB in size.
The code number of subject and medium should be entered very carefully, after comparing with previous
marks statements if available. Particular care should be taken for indicating the code against languages as
there are two types of courses. For medium code write 1 for English and 2 for Hindi. For language medium
code is not required.
Make sure you have selected bank where you want to deposit the fee and country. These are mandatory
fields.
Email Id should be in correct format.
Female fresh candidates of Delhi Scheme will be required to upload scanned copy of affidavit and submit
the same to Regional Office, Delhi alongwith with confirmation page.
Visually challenged candidates will be required to upload the scanned copy of Medical Certificate
(Disability Certificate) in the concerned Regional Office from where he/she want to appear alongwith
confirmation page.
Last STEP: Submission of Confirmation Page
Applicant should sign the confirmation page. After Fee payment printout of confirmation page, copy of marksheet, affidavit ( FRESH FEMALE of DELHI SCHEME) along with proof of deposited Fee should be sent to ‘Regional Officer, CBSE Regional Office” as per address given above within stipulated
schedule. If Fee is send through DD (only in respect of foreign candidates); Application No. and Roll No./Year of candidate must be written on backside of the Demand Draft.
Note: If candidate has made any mistake in subjects/information entered
he/she should contact the Regional Office concerned alongwith the copy of confirmation page and request for correction.

$ For the Private examination 2018 vocational subjects in class X can be taken only by those candidates who have already taken such subject during 2017.
(*) At subject 1 and subject 2 students can take a language in a manner that one
language is either English or Hindi. See examples on next page for details.

Subjects at S. No. 6 and 7 are purely optional. Students who wish to take only 5 subjects can be offered the same.
# - For students of NSQF stream:
The scheme of replacement as given in under mentioned para is applicable only for the private candidates appearing under All India Scheme (since they have already undergone two years studies in regular mode). This facility of opting NSQF subject / replacement is not available for the fresh girls & PH candidates appearing under Delhi Scheme.
Those students who have been offered 6 subjects including a vocational subject as 6th subject, If such a student fails in any one of the three compulsory subjects (i.e., Science, Mathematics and Social Science), then it will be replaced by the Vocational subject (offered as a 6th additional subject) and result of Class X Board Examination will be computed accordingly. Mark statement will include the grades obtained in all 6 subjects as well as the grade obtained in fail subject. Such replacement facility is not available if academic (elective) subject is taken at 6th/7th place.
In cases where candidate opts to take only 6 subjects with Language III as additional (at 7th place) and vocational/academic elective (at 6th place) is not opted, language-III chosen at 7th place will automatically become 6th subject of that candidate. However, no such replacement benefit with failing subject will be available to such candidate.
There will be common question paper (same difficulty level) in compulsory subjects for students opting Academic or NSQF vocational at 6th subject. No rationalized curriculum will be followed from academic session 2017-18.
CBSE has discontinued vocational subject of subject code 461 to 467. In its place subject code 401to 407 are available. ( List annexed)

General instructions
(i) For details please refer to Curriculum available on the website of CBSE.
(ii) CGPA will be calculated out of first five subjects, Grade obtained in vocational subject will be reflected in the Grade card issued by the Board.
(iii) Note regarding additional subject: Candidates who takes 6 subjects ( 5 main and 1 additional subject) and passes in all 6 subjects, the percentage is calculated according to the norms of college/institutions in which the candidate is taking admission. Board issues mark sheet indicating grades obtained in each subject separately. No aggregate score/percentage is mentioned by the Board.
(iv) The first 5 subjects in the chronological order of filling the subjects in online system are considered as Main subjects.
(v) Private fresh candidates shall have to take Science without practical (090) only. (vi) In class X Theory examination will be of 80 Marks and converted to 100 Marks. (vii) In Class X, private candidates cannot take subjects which have laboratory practice
involved. However, the subjects having project work can be taken. Such projects will be assessed by the Centres Superintendents of Examination Centres as allotted by CBSE.
(viii) Candidate applying for Improvement of Performance in the subject(s) involving practical has to apply only for theory examination, if he/she has passed in practical. The old practical marks will be taken into account.
(ix) In respect of candidates of March 2016 (or earlier years) practical marks will not be carried forward and only theory examination (70/80 Marks) will be taken by the Board. Marks obtained by such candidates in the theory Examination held in March 2018 will be converted to out of 100 marks and the name of subject will be change to subject without practical.

a) In respect of candidates of March 2016 (or earlier years) practical marks will not be
carried forward and only theory examination (70/80 Marks) will be taken by the Board.
Marks obtained by such candidates in the theory Examination held in March 2018 will
be converted to out of 100 marks and the name of subject will be change to subject
without practical.
b) Failure candidates applying for private examination will be required to opt the same
subjects in which he/she had appeared in his/her first attempt from the school.
c) In respect of candidates of March 2017, marks of practical will be carried forward for the
March 2018 Examination (and July, 2018 Examination).
d) Private candidate is not permitted to offer such subjects for the examination which involve practical work except in the case of candidates who had failed earlier and who had put in a regular course of study at an institution affiliated to the Board in the previous academic year.
e) Female candidates of Delhi scheme can take Home Science with practical. Visually Challenged candidates can take Music with Practical.
f) In Class XII, private candidates cannot take subject like Physics, Chemistry which have a laboratory practice involved. However, the subjects having project work can be taken. Such projects will be assessed by the Centres Superintendents of Examination Centres as allotted by CBSE.
g) Candidate applying for Improvement of Performance in the subject(s) involving practical has to apply only for theory examination, if he/she has passed in practical. The old practical marks will be taken into account.
h) However, if a candidate has attained passing marks in Theory but failed in practical, he/She should apply for theory and practical both. Those candidates who could not appear in Practical Examination due to medical reasons should also apply for both Theory and Practical examination. Date/venue of Practical of such candidates will be informed by the Centre Superintendent of Examination Centres as allotted by CBSE.
i) In the subject(s) where practical examination is involved, separate pass in theory & practical examination as also in the aggregate of the two is compulsory.
j) If a candidate who has passed in class XII 2017 and applies for improvement of any subject and his marks scored in Class XII 2018 examination are reduced or increased, the separate mark sheet of that subject will be issued. With regard to the validity of marks it is clarified that both the mark sheet will be valid. Employer/University/Institution has the discretion to consider the marks of candidate as per rule of Employer/University/Institution.
k) In case of failure candidate, practical marks of his/her first examination will be carried
over upto two consecutive years after his/her first exam. As per notification dated
29.11.2016 “A candidate who has failed at the Senior School Certificate Examination in
the first attempt shall be required to re-appear in all the subjects at the subsequent
annual examination of the Board. He/she shall appear only in theory part and his/her
previous practical marks will be carried forward and accounted for if he/she has passed
in practical. In case a candidate has failed in practical he/she shall have to appear in
theory and practical both. If he/she fails to pass the examination in the subsequent year
at the third chance in July, after the first attempt, he/she shall have to reappear in all the
subjects including practical”.
