Using Stylesight

Log into Blackboard and click on the Library Tab. Then click Databases.

Here is a list of databases filed by subject. We want to find the database called Stylesight, so let’s

click on the “A-Z List.”

Scroll down the alphabetical list to Stylesight and click to access it.

This is the Stylesight homepage!

Let’s start by searching the image library for Donna

Karan.

This search pulled up 4410 images of all things Donna Karan, including dresses, shirts, accessories, and more.

Clicking the i button took us to this screen with information about designer, city, season, etc.

Use tools to zoom, print, or add the image to a folder.

You can also search in selected reports.

Here are accessories reports that mention Donna Karan.

Clicking on a report opens the report to the page that mentions our search terms.

Now we’ve learned that Donna Karan makes

extended gloves.

Clicking “View More Images” takes us to images of pieces in this report.

Now we’re viewing the image library from the “Go Long” section of the “Classification: Gloves” report. To view only

Donna Karan images from this report, click her name under the “Designer” list.

Here are the seven images of Donna Karan gloves from the “Go Long” section of the “Classifications: Gloves”

report. Use these images to learn more about your designer’s looks and designs.

Once you find images you can add them to a research

folder that you create.

View active folders on the toolbar below.

Now that you have learned a few ways to search and browse for reports and images in Stylesight, have fun

exploring the many resources this database offers.
