Teaching Staff

BSc (Hons) Computer Networks

• Duration of course – 3 Years (4 years with Industrial Placement)

• 2 semesters each year

• Semester 1: September to January

• Semester 2: February to June

• Each semester consists of

• 11 weeks of teaching + 1 week for revision + 2 weeks for assessment

• Around 6 modules per year

• 120 credits worth of material. Each module 20 or 40 credits

• Average student workload is 12-15 hours per week (lectures, tutorials, workshops) plus at least as many hours of private study

• Making a total of around 35 hours

• Modules assessed by examination and/or assignment

• Year 1 – provides correct foundation for entry to Year 2

• Year 2 – contributes 25% towards the final classification

• Optional Year – Industrial Placement. Contributes towardsthe final classification

• Final Year – contributes 75% towards the final classification
