Lately,wehavereceivedaninfluxofdonationsintheformofclothing–jackets,socks,gloves,hats,underwear.Allhasbeenappreciated.Theothereve-

ning, we hada large num-ber of peoplecome into theRV in thefirsthour or sothat we were there. It keptthefourvolun-

teersbusy;servingsoup,makingsandwiches,pass-ingoutbananas...However,lateron,itsloweddownalittle,andsomeonecameintotheRVwhohadneverbeentherebefore.Afterfinishingoffhissoupandsand-wiches,wetalked.Atsomepointheaskedifwehadabaseballhat.Wedidn’thaveabaseballhatforhim;

we had three that he couldchoose from.Thatledtoabitof a dilemma,ashenowhadachoice.Afterthat,therewasa request for

socks,whichwehad...andthenawarmworkshirt.Ijustkeptgoing.Itwasajoytobeabletosay“yes”toeachofhisrequests.Howoftendothepeoplewhovisitushear “no”on thestreet? Often. Andso,asmuchaswecan,weliketosay“yes”tothem;toaffirmthemandsupportthem.Youhaveprovideduswithsomuchsothatwecansay“yes.”Atonepoint,thisvisitoraskeduswhereeverythingcamefrom;wecouldtellhimaboutyouandyourfaithfulsupport.

In thepast IhadoftenthoughtaboutvolunteeringwithaprogramsuchasStreetHopebutthebusinessoflifealwaysseemedto takepriority; itseemedtocloudoverwhat is trulyimportantinlife.Lifeisunpredictableasweallknow.Someofthemostimportantthingsinmylifehavere-centlybeentakenawayfromme.OneoftheoutcomeshasbeentobeawareofwhatIdohave;whatGodhasgivenmeandtobegrateful.Ithasrekindledadesireinmetoserveothersoutofmyownpainandvulner-ability.ItseemsthatwearestillusablebyChristeveninthatstate! OccasionallyIarriveattheRVonTuesdayeve-nings,aftera longdayofwork,wondering if I really

wanttobethere.AsImakemywaybackhomeattheendoftheevening,aftermuchlaughterandconversa-tion,IfeelliftedinmyspiritandIwonder‘whogavetowho?’IcometoservebutintheendIfeelserved--bymyfellowvolunteersandbythemanyamazingfolkswhocometohang,eatandchatinourslightlyrusticbutwelcomingRV.

Your Prayers Make A DifferenceGodcontinues tobeatwork in the livesof thoseween-counter.Manyofthemdon’thaveaplacetogohometoattheendofthedayorhaveunstablehousingsituations.Recently,twoofthevisitorstotheRVwhohadbeenstrug-gling with housing issues told us that these issues hadbeenresolved!Onehasfoundhousingandwillbemoving

intohisownplaceshortly.Anotheronehasmovedoutofanunstablehousing situation and into some-thingthat ismorestable. Wearethankful for your prayers and forthe way that God is responding;providingfortheseneeds.

Total 2014 Budget, $16450

Thetotalbudgetforthisyearis$16,450,aslightdecreasefromlastyearbecausewedonotan-ticipateanymajorrepairs for theRV.Wearegratefulthatdonationsexceededourcostslastyear.Wecurrentlyhavesomefundsinreserveforthepurchaseofanewvehicle.Maybeyouknowsomeonewhowouldliketogiveusone!
