Still Life Painting:
an introduction
Look at the following artworks.
These artists were interested in the form, colour and textures of objects and plants.
The paintings vary in highly distinctive ways.
Some artists chose to represent the subject matter realistically,
and some were more interested in searching for ways of arranging
their world on a flat surface.
Some were also simply interested in showing off their technical
skill.
Look at how the artists used colour, how they handled light, shadow, and texture.
