Stellenwerk Job Fair
The Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) including its 20 faculties and more than 41,000 students from 130 countries combines all scientific disciplines on a compact campus.
In 2018 the Stellenwerk Job Fair, as the new official academic job fair of the RUB, will take place at the campus’ heart, the Audimax.
On the 17th and 18th of April 2018 more than 100 companies will meet students and university graduates from all fields with exhibition stands, themed presentations and current job offers.
The Stellenwerk Job Fair with its attractive supporting programme is advertised directly on the campuses of the RUB and via online and social media marketing.
There will also be an interactive exhibition app for exhibitors, students and university graduates before, during and after the job fair.
Admission is free of charge for visitors.

General Terms and Conditions (GTC) for Stellenwerk Job Fair Bochum 2018
1. General information
Universität Hamburg Marketing GmbH, Feldbrunnenstraße 9, 20148 Hamburg (hereinafter referred to as “Organiser”) is the organiser of the Stellenwerk Job Fair. The following Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to the
participation of recruiting companies (hereinafter referred to as “Company”). The GTC only apply to entrepreneurs within the meaning of Section 14 (1) German Civil Code (BGB) and legal persons under public law or
special funds under public law within the meaning of Section 310 (1) BGB. They become applicable as soon as the Organiser’s services or offer are used by the Company. Other or supplementary agreements may be
concluded for any other services offered by the Organiser. The GTC shall apply to any and all transactions and contractual relationships, even if future transactions or orders are concluded without explicit reference to
these GTC. We hereby object to deviating terms and conditions of the Company, unless it was explicitly agreed in writing that such terms and conditions shall apply.
2. Contract conclusion
Exhibition or advertising spaces or services are ordered by submitting a completed registration form. The contract between the Company and the Organiser is concluded as soon as the Organiser has sent a written
confirmation by email.
3. Eligibility and allocation of exhibition spaces
The Stellenwerk Job Fair is primarily open to companies, who want to recruit university graduates. The Organiser decides whether a Company is eligible to participate. The exhibition space is allocated by the Organiser.
4. Exhibition fee
The amount of the exhibition fee is calculated in accordance with the rates stated in the registration form. The calculations are based on the allotted floor space without consideration of projections, pillars, installation
connections or other fixed fittings.
5. Stand space and design
The position of the stand may vary. Pillars and other fixed fittings may be included in the rented stand space. The stand must be constructed and designed in accordance with the general provisions and the technical
requirements of the Organiser and the venue; the provisions of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Ruhr-Universität Bochum under construction and fire protection law must be observed in particular. These provisions are
available from the Organiser upon request. The stands must be staffed for the entire duration of the event. The Organiser may request that any exhibition materials or activities that disrupt the fair visually or through
odours, noise or other emissions are removed or discontinued. If the Company fails to fulfil such request without undue delay, the Organiser is entitled to close the stand without such giving rise to any claims vis-à-vis the
Organiser. Retail sales of exhibition materials (also samples) to private persons is prohibited. The same applies to the sale of software. In this context, the term sale also includes the receipt of commitments by private
persons to purchase something, even if the delivery of the order or the payment of the goods is effected at a later stage either directly or via retailers. Samples may only be handed out free of charge. Advertising
measures and active contacting of visitors must be limited to the direct area of the exhibition stand.
6.
The Company has the possibility to have stand equipment and exhibition materials (exhibition stand, stand furnishings and the corresponding materials, with the exception of food and perishable goods) one day before
the fair commences. The Organiser shall inform the Company of the exact time window for deliveries in a separate notification no later than three weeks before the fair commences. Stand equipment and exhibition
materials delivered prior to commencement of the fair will be stored in a separate, lockable or guarded exhibition tent or container. Stand equipment and exhibition materials must be collected on the last exhibition day
booked by the Company. The Organiser will dispose of any stand equipment or exhibition materials that are not collected on time.
7. Co-exhibitors and co-represented companies
The stand space may only be used by another company in exceptional cases and subject to a separate registration and the Organiser’s written consent. In all other respects, these General Terms and Conditions also apply
to such companies to the extent that they can actually apply. The transfer - or partial transfer - of rights and obligations resulting from this Agreement to third parties is not admissible

8. Payment terms
The services are billed following confirmation by the Organiser; the invoice amount shall be paid to the Organiser’s account as specified on the invoice within a period of two weeks after receipt of the invoice; the receipt
of the money by the Organiser shall be decisive for determining whether the deadline is met.
9. Reservations
All services are rendered within the scope of available capacities. The Organiser is entitled to postpone, shorten, temporarily close the event, either in full or in part, or cancel it altogether for important reasons and in
case of labour disputes involving its own employees or employees of Ruhr-Universität Bochum and its institutions and in case of force majeure, including the non-availability of exhibition rooms or spaces due to building
measures required at short notice. If the event is fully or partially postponed or shortened, the contract is deemed concluded for the changed time period, unless the Company objects to such change in writing after
receiving notification thereof. Objections may be raised within a maximum period of two weeks after notification; in any case, however, objections must be raised vis-à-vis the Organiser before the fair commences. If the
event is shortened, the fees are reduced on a pro rata basis; if the event is cancelled altogether, the fee is likewise cancelled entirely. Any fees already paid will then be reimbursed by the Organiser without undue delay
(on a pro rata basis). Any claims for damages on the part of the Company beyond this scope do not exist in such case, unless the Organiser or its vicarious agents caused the reasons for shortening or cancelling the event
as specified in item 10 below; Ruhr-Universität Bochum does not classify as a vicarious agent of the Organiser.
10. Exclusion of liability
The Organiser does not assume any duty of care for stand equipment or exhibition materials and, with the exception of intent or gross negligence, excludes any liability for damages to such materials also on behalf of its
employees. This exclusion of liability shall also apply if the Organiser safekeeps the Company’s stand equipment or exhibition materials as specified in item 6. The exclusion of liability is not limited by the Organiser’s
special security measures. The Organiser further excludes any liability for disadvantages and damages incurred by the Company due to wrong information in connection with the stand allocation, the erection of the stand
or due to errors in print materials or the exhibition website and the job fair app or due to changes in the size of the stand that were not objected to without undue delay or any other faulty services, unless the Organiser is
responsible for such disadvantages or damages due to intentional or grossly negligent behaviour of its employees or unless the Company’s material contractual rights are impaired, including in particular the possibility to
present itself at the Stellenwerk Job Fair in an adequate manner. Furthermore, the Organiser assumes no responsibility for the exhibition goods provided by the Company, for the contents of the offered services and the
presentation of the exhibition space/stand furnishings (including any brochures, flyers, samples, etc. that might be distributed). The Company shall indemnify the Organiser at the latter’s first request against any and all
third party claims that might be asserted against the Organiser due to inadmissible content or other violations of the law, for which the Company is responsible. The indemnification shall also include any legal costs that
might be required.
11. Premature termination of the contract
Following confirmation by the Organiser, the registration is deemed binding. The payment obligation exists as from this point in time, irrespective of whether the Company actually attends the fair. Rescission from the
contract is not possible, with the exception of the cases where rescission is possible by law.
12. Additional provisions
The Company may only conduct opinion polls and surveys and distribute brochures, flyers, samples etc. at its own stand. If this provision is violated, the Organiser is entitled to close the stand without such giving rise to
any claims vis-à-vis the Organiser.
13. Claims by the Company, written form requirement, place of performance, place of jurisdiction
Any claims by the Company vis-à-vis the Organiser must be asserted in writing. Such claims become statute-barred within a period of six months after the end of the Stellenwerk Job Fair. The laws of the Federal Republic
of Germany shall apply. The registered office of the Organiser is the place of performance and the place of jurisdiction for all and any mutual claims arising in connection with this contract. Nevertheless, the Organiser
reserves the right to assert its claims before the courts at the Company’s registered office.
