STAND IN FAITH

Daniel 10:7-21

7 I, Daniel, was the only one who saw thevision; those who were with me did notsee it, but such terror overwhelmed themthat they fled and hid themselves. 8 So Iwas left alone, gazing at this great vision;I had no strength left, my face turneddeathly pale and I was helpless. 9 Then Iheard him speaking, and as I listened tohim, I fell into a deep sleep, my face to theground.

Daniel 10:7-21

10 A hand touched me and set metrembling on my hands and knees. 11 Hesaid, “Daniel, you who are highlyesteemed, consider carefully the words Iam about to speak to you, and stand up,for I have now been sent to you.” Andwhen he said this to me, I stood uptrembling. 12 Then he continued, “Do notbe afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that

Daniel 10:7-21

you set your mind to gain understandingand to humble yourself before your God,your words were heard, and I have comein response to them. 13 But the prince ofthe Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chiefprinces, came to help me, because I wasdetained there with the king of Persia. 14

Now I have come to explain to you what

Daniel 10:7-21

will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet tocome.” 15 While he was saying this to me,I bowed with my face toward the groundand was speechless. 16 Then one wholooked like a man touched my lips, and Iopened my mouth and began to speak. Isaid to the one standing before me, “I amovercome with anguish because of thevision, my lord, and I feel very weak.

Daniel 10:7-21

17 How can I, your servant, talk with you,my lord? My strength is gone and I canhardly breathe.” 18 Again the one wholooked like a man touched me and gaveme strength. 19 “Do not be afraid, you whoare highly esteemed,” he said. “Peace! Bestrong now; be strong.” When he spoke tome, I was strengthened and said, “Speak,my lord, since you have given mestrength.”

Daniel 10:7-21

20 So he said, “Do you know why I havecome to you? Soon I will return to fightagainst the prince of Persia, and when Igo, the prince of Greece will come; 21 butfirst I will tell you what is written in theBook of Truth. (No one supports meagainst them except Michael, your prince.

At times, God speaks to us through visions. Vision is one of

the many ways that God speaks to us.

Prayer is how we communicate with God.

Shanghai, China

It is important for us to speak in the same language with God.

STANDING IN FAITH means to believe the impossible and to have

hope that it will happen.

Daniel 10:5-8

5 I looked up and saw a man dressed inlinen clothing, with a belt of pure goldaround his waist. 6 His body looked like aprecious gem. His face flashed likelightning, and his eyes flamed liketorches. His arms and feet shone likepolished bronze, and his voice roared likea vast multitude of people.

Daniel 10:5-8

7 Only I, Daniel, saw this vision. Themen with me saw nothing, but they weresuddenly terrified and ran away to hide. 8

So I was left there all alone to see thisamazing vision.

Sometimes God has something just for you and others wouldn’t

understand.

Sometimes God lets you walk in solitary paths so He could speak to

you personally.

We need to be refreshed with new visions from the Lord. This would enable us to continue the path we

are treading.

Daniel 10:8-9

8bMy strength left me, my face grewdeathly pale, and I felt very weak. 9 Then Iheard the man speak, and when I heardthe sound of his voice, I fainted and laythere with my face to the ground.

When God visits you, you will never be able to contain His

presence.

The weight of God’s glory is incomparable to anything or to

anyone.

Strongest of men cannot bear the weight of the glory of God.

THREE THINGS TO REMEMBER WHEN

STANDING IN FAITH

God cares about you more than

you do.

Daniel 10:10-11

10 Just then a hand touched me and liftedme, still trembling, to my hands and knees.11 And the man said to me, “Daniel, you arevery precious to God, so listen carefully towhat I have to say to you. Stand up, for Ihave been sent to you.” When he said thisto me, I stood up, still trembling.

Matthew 6:6-8

6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, whois unseen. Then your Father, who sees whatis done in secret, will reward you. 7 Andwhen you pray, do not keep on babbling likepagans, for they think they will be heardbecause of their many words. 8 Do not belike them, for your Father knows what youneed before you ask him.

You are very precious to God. Not only does God love you—

He likes you.

God is doingmore than you

understand.

Daniel 10:12-13

12 Then he said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel.Since the first day you began to pray forunderstanding and to humble yourself beforeyour God, your request has been heard inheaven. I have come in answer to your prayer.13 But for twenty-one days the spirit prince ofthe kingdom of Persia blocked my way. ThenMichael, one of the archangels, came to helpme, and I left him there with the spirit prince ofthe kingdom of Persia.

Since the first time you begin to pray—your prayer has been heard

in heaven.

Psalm 56:8 NLT

You keep track of all my sorrows. You havecollected all my tears in your bottle. You haverecorded each one in your book.

God hears the cry of your heart!

Ephesians 3:14-20

14 For this reason I kneel before the Father,15 from whom every family in heaven and onearth derives its name. 16 I pray that out ofhis glorious riches he may strengthen youwith power through his Spirit in your innerbeing, 17 so that Christ may dwell in yourhearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 mayhave power, together with all the Lord’s holypeople, to grasp how wide and long

Ephesians 3:14-20

and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19

and to know this love that surpassesknowledge—that you may be filled to themeasure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now tohim who is able to do immeasurably morethan all we ask or imagine, according to hispower that is at work within us, 21 to him beglory in the church and in Christ Jesusthroughout all generations, for ever andever! Amen.

Hold on to what God has promised you.

Hebrews 10:23

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope weprofess, for he who promised is faithful.

God’s strength is made perfect in your weakness.

Daniel 10:17-19

17 How can someone like me, your servant, talk to you, my lord? My strength is gone, and I can hardly breathe.” 18 Then the onewho looked like a man touched me again, and I felt my strength returning. 19 “Don’tbe afraid,” he said, “for you are veryprecious to God. Peace! Be encouraged!Be strong!”

Until you understand your weakness you won’t appreciate

God’s strength.

2 Corinthians 12:8-10

8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to takeit away from me. 9 But he said to me, “Mygrace is sufficient for you, for my power ismade perfect in weakness.” Therefore I willboast all the more gladly about myweaknesses, so that Christ’s power mayrest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, Idelight in weaknesses, in insults, inhardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

We should thank God every time He rejects our prayers.

Isaiah 55:8-9

8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declaresthe Lord. 9 “As the heavens are higher thanthe earth, so are my ways higher than yourways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

God works in our weaknesses so that He can display His

strength.

1 Peter 3:3-6

3 Praise be to the God and Father of ourLord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he hasgiven us new birth into a living hope throughthe resurrection of Jesus Christ from thedead, 4 and into an inheritance that cannever perish, spoil or fade. This inheritanceis kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faithare shielded by God’s power until thecoming of the salvation that is ready to berevealed in the last time.

1 Peter 3:3-6

6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though nowfor a little while you may have had to suffergrief in all kinds of trials.
