The fullness of life and joy is found by giving oneself for the

14th Sunday in Ordinary Time – July 2020
“Our hearts are restless…” With what is happening in the world, how are you doing? Are you happy
or are you troubled?
One thing that COVID 19 taught us is that nothing in this world can give
us real and lasting happiness. We have to look elsewhere. And Our Lord in the
Gospel invite us “Come to me, all you who labor and find life burdensome, and I
will give you rest” - He is the only one that can offer us true peace and happi-
ness. But we need to live as true children of the Father - trusting, humble and
totally dependent on God so that we might see the mysteries of God unfolding be-
fore us.
Jesus knew quite well that running after all these worldly things is truly an
exercise in futility. And even worst is to choose to live our lives in constant wor-
rying because : “Worrying does not take away tomorrow’s troubles; it takes away
today’s peace.” But More importantly, unnecessary worrying reveals how little
is our faith in God, and how distant we are from Him.
Are we ready to acknowledge like St. Augustine that: “Our hearts are
restless until it rest in thee (God).”
