Rahul's match-winning 63,made Singh Club's chase ofKC Sports Club's total of 118for ten, a cakewalk.

"That's the style of myplay," declared Rahul, on hisentertaining effort which wasstudded with fours and sixes,after being named the Man ofthe Match. Earlier, battingfirst, KC Sports Club wasbundled out for 118 runs in16.3 overs. Gourav was thetop scorer with 31 runs while

Nawaz scored 25 and ShubamGupta made 17. For SinghClub, Happy, Sham andChetan grabbed two wicketseach while Rohit took one. Inreply, Singh Club chased thetarget in 15.4 overs for theloss of three wickets, courtesyRahul's brilliant 63-runknock. Sumit with 23 andVishal 21 were the other scor-ers. For KC Sports Club,Himanshu clinched threewickets. In another match,Lakshmi Club defeated WCCKashmir by three wickets andentered the quarterfinals.Batting first, WCC Kashmirscored 112 runs for the loss often wickets in 17.5 overs.Rohan Koul with (30), Rohit(27) and Vikas Raina (19)runs were the main scorers.

For Lakshmi Club,Amandeep picked up fourwickets to prevent WCCKashmir from running up abigger score. Yogesh alsoshowed a good spell of bowling

taking three wickets whileKulvinder and Santbakshscalped one wicket each. Inreply, Lakshmi Club chasedthe target in 17.4 overs for theloss of seven wickets. Dhruvwas the top scorer with 20runs while Vinayak andYogesh added 17 and 15 runsto the winning total. For bowl-ing side, Sahil grabbed twowickets while Chander, Rohanand Yawar picked one each.Amandeep Singh wasadjudged as Man of theMatch.

Syed Khalid Majid Drabu,Special Secretary PHE andI&FC Department was theChief Guest and Brig.Harcharan Singh, DirectorRajya Sainik Board was theGuest of Honour on the occa-sion.

The Chairman of theSchool, V.K Malhotra accom-panied by the ViceChairperson RashmiMalhotra welcomed the ChiefGuest and Director GouravMalhotra welcomed theGuest of Honour.

The programme com-

menced with the lighting ofthe ceremonial lamp by theChairman V.K Malhotra, ViceChairperson, RashmiMalhota, Chief Guest, Guestof Honour, Director GauravMalhotra, Principal ShashiKiran Bedi and VicePrincipal Niti Dhami andother members of the societyfollowed by recitation ofSanskrit Shalokas.

The Principal, ShashiKiran Bedi welcomed theeminent guests and sharedthe school's Annual Reportwhich highlighted the glori-ous achievements and accom-plishment of the students.

The entire auditoriumreverberated with the energyand superb theatrics of theactors through an array ofdances viz. Nigerian, Ball

Dance, Vandematram,Classical, Dogri, Bhangra,Alien Dance.

The apex part of the pro-gramme was the screening avideo film made by the stu-dents on the issue of garbageand waste.

The film's title was "TalkingTrash" (Threat to Future)and was intended to makechildren aware of the issue.

Later in the prize distribu-tion ceremony, the buddingstars were adorned withawards for excellence in aca-demics, sports, music, art etcby the Chief Guest.

The Chief Guest congratu-lated the achievers in the var-ious arenas and accentuatedthat Springdales to be thepioneer in the field of educa-tion.

STATE TIMES NEWSNEW DELHI: PunjabPolice dominated the secondday of 67th edition of theAll India Police AthleticsChampionship being hostedby the Central IndustrialSecurity Force (CISF) atJawaharlal Nehru Stadiumin Delhi.

A total of 34 teams and1,100 sportspersons fromstate police and centralforces are taking part in thefive days event which com-menced on December 10.

Various disciplines ofathletics like long jump,high jump, shot put, triplejump, hammer throw, polevault, marathon and othersare the part of the annualevent. The event wasdeclared open by VicePresident, M VenkaiahNaidu on December 10.

On the second day,Punjab Police clinched fourgold medals and a silver.

Handloom Development Departmentorganises awareness camp

STATE TIMES NEWSDODA: The Handloom Development Department on Tuesdayorganised one day awareness for local weavers. The camp wasalso attended by managers of various banks.

Assistant Director Handloom Development Department,Haroon Rashid Naik, supervised the camp and asked theweavers to come forward and take maximum benefit of thedepartment's schemes which offer several incentives besidesnew techniques in the trade of weaving. He highlighted variousschemes like "Pradhan Mantri Weavers Mudra Yojna Scheme".He informed that during the current financial year Rs. 3.00lakh has been distributed as subsidy under Micro credit planscheme benefitting 52 weavers. ACSS N.D Batt, highlightedthe benefits of the schemes of the department and distributedforms among the weavers for their coverage under Aam AdmiBima Yojna and Pradhan Mantri Surakshan Yojna.
