What is the connection?
This operating system, developed by Be Inc, founded by
Jean-Louis Gassée, former Apple CEO, was the main
competition to Steve Job’s NeXT’s NeXTSTEP when Apple
was looking for an operating system to replace its aging
Mac OS.
Though now discontinued, it has been open sourced and
lives on as a community project called Haiku.
It is famous for it’s quick boot times and refreshing user
interface.
What am I talking about?
This symbol, in wide use recently, was historically used as
an abbreviation in Spanish and Portuguese for “arroba”, a
unit of weight equivalent to 25 pounds.
It’s first modern use was by Ray Tomlinson, a computer
scientist, who was looking for a symbol not in use in other
places to use in his program. “The symbol would probably
have gone the way of the cent sign on keyboard if not for
my using it”, says he.
What is the symbol am I talking about?
This small city in Croatia on the Adriatic Sea is a UNESCO
world heritage site and it’s said that it’s one of the 10 best
preserved walled cities.
It’s famed for its cathedral and the path to it.
We know this place better as some place from a fictional
land.

This baboon (pic on next slide) was transferred to a zoo in
Kent (UK) from another zoo overseas.
After his introduction to the zoo, his caretakers had to learn
a new language.
Why?
X’s father was a Southern Baptist Minister. In order to afford
the move to Los Angeles, X worked up to five jobs at a
time, including Pizza Hut delivery boy and giant frog mascot
for a radio station. After graduating high school, the aspiring
actor drove out to LA with a few thousand bucks in his
pocket. X also worked as a movie theater usher at
Universal Studios in Hollywood prior to having success as
an actor. X also hosted WWE RAW in March, 2014. X is

X’s name originally was Y. Y had to devote attention to
army duties, and could not find enough time for practice.
While his regiment rested at night, he practised alone on
the field with a ball and a stick. While they rested, his army
mates could hear him hitting the ball at night. This was how
Y became X because he used to practise the game under
moonlight. Former Aussie cricketer Sir Donald Bradman
met X in 1935. After watching him play, Bradman
remarked "He scores goals like runs in cricket".

The animated television series X started in 1969.During its
four decade broadcast history,X has received two Emmy
nominations.The August 3, 2002, issue of TV Guide
featured its list of the 50 Greatest Cartoon Characters of all

because of presumed subversive themes which involve

This exam will be taken by almost 8.8 million high school

The CSV worm did it’s rounds on the internet in 2009,
affecting almost 10 million slides before it was stopped. It
changed the pages of microsoft.com, apple.com and other
popular websites by corrupting the CSS code that is used
for styling.
What were the effects of this worm?
This rather unusual epidemic occurred near the village of
Kashasha on the shores of Lake Victoria in Tanganyika
(now Tanzania), near its border with Uganda, in 1962.
It began in a mission-run boarding school for girls with three
girls, and spread haphazardly, affecting 159 girls.
Symptoms lasted from a few hours to 16 days. The school
was forced to shut down.
After the school was shut, the epidemic spread to nearby
villages. The school reopened, only to be shut. Around
1000 people were affected. The school was sued for this.
What was the disease?
She was born in Aberdeen, Scotland and raised at
Lickleyhead Castle in Aberdeenshire, her family's 15th-
century ancestral seat. Her father is Sebastian Arbuthnot-
Leslie, the Aberdeenshire Chieftain of Clan Leslie, and her
mother is Candida Mary Sibyl "Candy" Leslie (née Weld),
great-granddaughter of Simon Fraser, 13th Lord Lovat (a
descendant of Charles II). Her parents own the 12th-
century Warthill Castle in Aberdeenshire.
She’s famous for another reason. Who is she?
All of India follows the Indian Standard Time (the IST), but
provisions in labour laws allow the Central and State
governments to define and set the local time for a particular
industrial area.
These provisions are put to effect in one place, and they
follow a different timezone than the rest of India.
