Spirit God, Be Our Breath

Spirit God: be our breath, be our song.

Blow through us,

bringing strength to move on.

Our world seems inward,

defensive, withdrawn…

Spirit God, be our song.

Patient God: soothe our pride,

calm our fear.

Comfort us. When we know you are near

We grow more certain, our vision is clear.

Patient God, calm our fear.

Loving God: be our voice, be our prayer.

Reaching out, joining hands as we share,

We seek your guidance

through friendship and care.

Loving God, be our prayer.

Spirit God: be our breath, be our song.

Blow through us,

bringing strength to move on.

Through change, through challenge,

we’ll greet the new dawn…

Spirit God, be our song.

Lord, prepare me

to be a sanctuary

Pure and holy,

tried and true.

With thanksgiving

I’ll be a living

Sanctuary for you.

Lord, Prepare Me to be a

Sanctuary

Leader: The heavens are telling of the

glory of God, and the firmament

proclaims God’s handiwork.

People: All of creation exists

within the law of love.

Leader: Day to day pours forth speech,

and night to night declares

knowledge.

People: All of creation exists

within the law of love.

Leader: There is no speech,

nor are there words,

their voice is not heard.

People: All of creation exists

within the law of love.

Leader: These are the laws which we

proclaim; the silent laws of a

caring cosmos.

People: May we find ourselves within that

law as we begin our lives.

Hymn: VU296

This is God’s Wondrous World

This is God’s Wondrous World

This is God’s wondrous world,

And to my listening ears

All nature sings,

and round me rings

The music of the spheres.

This is God’s wondrous world.

I rest me in the thought

Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas,

God’s hand the wonders wrought.

This is God’s wondrous world,

The birds their carols raise;

The morning light, the lily white,

Declare their Maker’s praise.

This is God’s wondrous world;

God shines in all that’s fair;

In the rustling grass or mountain pass,

God’s voice speaks everywhere.

This is God’s wondrous world,

O let me ne’er forget

That though the wrong

Seems oft so strong,

God is the Ruler yet.

This is God’s wondrous world,

Why should my heart be sad?

Let voices sing, let heavens ring:

God reigns, let earth be glad!

Growing our Faith

It’s the chorus of all creation;

It’s sung by all living things.

It’s the chorus of all creation;

A song the universe sings,

All: In a world where nothing comes of

nothing and every action has an equal

and opposite reaction we’re struck at

once with the certainty that there must

have been a cause; a reason for

everything that underpins our universe

and answers the question of who we

are and where we came from.

And so we ask you, God, in the stillness of

this moment, to come amongst us and

incline our ears to the song of your

Creation; a Creation which ceaselessly

sings of the law of love which rules it – and

of the love its Creator bore it – that made it

so. Amen.

It’s the chorus of all creation;

It’s sung by all living things.

It’s the chorus of all creation;

A song the universe sings,

Psalm 19

Cause and Effect

Offering

Called by Earth and Sky

Called by earth and sky,

Promise of hope held high.

This is our sacred living trust,

Treasure of life sanctified,

Called by earth and sky.

Precious these waters,

Endless seas,

Deep ocean’s dream,

Waters of healing,

Rivers of rain,

The wash of love again.

Called by earth and sky,

Promise of hope held high.

This is our sacred living trust,

Treasure of life sanctified,

Called by earth and sky.

Precious this gift,

The air we breathe;

Wind born and free.

Breath of the Spirit,

Blow through this place,

Our gathering and our grace.

Called by earth and sky,

Promise of hope held high.

This is our sacred living trust,

Treasure of life sanctified,

Called by earth and sky.

Precious these mountains,

Ancient sands;

Vast fragile land.

Seeds of our wakening,

Rooted and strong,

Creation’s faithful song.

Called by earth and sky,

Promise of hope held high.

This is our sacred living trust,

Treasure of life sanctified,

Called by earth and sky.

Precious the fire

That lights our way,

Bright dawning day.

Fire of passion,

Sorrows undone,

Our faith and justice one.

Called by earth and sky,

Promise of hope held high.

This is our sacred living trust,

Treasure of life sanctified,

Called by earth and sky.

Shout to the Lord

My Jesus, my Saviour

Lord there is none like You,

All of my days, I want to praise

The wonders of Your mighty love.

My comfort, my shelter

Let every breath, all that I am

Never cease to worship You.

Shout to the Lord, all the earth let us sing

Power and majesty, Praise to the King.

Mountains bow down

and the seas will roar

At the sound of Your name.

I sing for joy

at the work of Your hands.

Forever I'll love You,

Forever I'll stand.

Nothing compares

to the promise

I have in You.
