5. Remedial measures taken for critical tripping events
The respective constituents are requested to send the remedial measures
taken by them for the tripping events enclosed in the Annexure – I through
email latest by 07.02.2014.
6. SPS for Kudankulam Nuclear Power Station SRLDC brought to the notice of the PCSC forum that there had been re-orientation recently in respect of 400 KV lines emanating from Kudankulam. Three 400kV lines were now from Kudankulam to Thirunelveli while remaining one line is from Kudankulam to Madurai. Hence the following logic was proposed for SPS at Kudankulam on account of the change in the configuration:
Contingency Action
Tripping of all three lines from Kudankulam to Thirunelveli and two units in running condition at Kudankulam.
One unit at Kudankulam to go on house load and the second unit generation would be evacuated through 400kV Kudankulam-Madurai line.
28th PCSC Deliberations
Ø SRLDC informed the forum that PGCIL had furnished its response to the issues raised by NPCIL. It had asked KKNPP to restrict the generation to House Load on a Generator and 700 MW on other Generator.
Ø KKNPP, NPCIL informed that they would revert back within three week's time.

7. Phasing of Implementation of Protection Audit Recommendations
• In the 23rd SRPC meeting held on 26th October 2013m, it was agreed that the utilities to carry out implementation of the recommendations relating to third party protection audit as per prioritization in a phased manner.
• The schedule of activities would be furnished with in one month and would be discussed in the Protection sub committee meeting.
• The utilities would commence works identified in the above schedule

without waiting for funding.
• SRLDC had also submitted its recommendations regarding phasing of works to Hon’ble CERC. Action by: TANTRANSCO, KPTCL, and Puducherry
8. Tripping Incidents in the Southern Region The tripping details that had occurred in the Southern Region during the month of January , 2014 is enclosed as Annexure - II .The Constituents were requested to update the details in the SRLDC Website at the earliest to analyze the incidents and suggest remedial measures if any.

Healthiness of Batteries Installed at 220 KV and above voltage level Substations (to provide Backup supply to the Relays, RTUs and Communication Equipments) may be updated on monthly basis since the same has to be communicated to CEA/MOP.
• The constituents were requested to submit the healthiness of batteries on monthly basis (i.e. on 7th day of the month).

15. Submission of completed dynamic study data All SLDCs were requested to direct the embedded IPPs connected at 220 kV and above voltage level to submit completed dynamic study format to SRPC, Secretariat.
16. Informing configuration changes to PCSC forum It was agreed in the PCSC forum that if any change in the system configuration ( i.e. addition of Generating Units, Capacitors, Reactors, LILO etc) are to be highlighted and brought to attention of PCSC forum during the PCSC Meetings . This would enable utilities to review their protection settings if any change in the adjoining utilities to have better protection coordination in the Southern Region. All the constituents are requested to send the change in the configuration in their system if any to the PCSC forum on monthly basis.
17. Sending Agenda items for the PCSC meetings
As per the Guidelines of CEA/MOP it had been decided to conduct the PCSC meetings on a monthly basis .It is requested that Agenda Items for the PCSC meetings, if any, may please be sent latest by 5th working day of the month to SRPC Secretariat to compile and circulate the same so as to have fruitful discussions in the PCSC meetings.
18. Date & Venue of the next Meeting The 30th PCSC meeting would be conducted on 19.03.2014 (Wednesday) at SRPC Bangalore.
