Southern Methodist University (SMU), Master Plan

SWA Group, in association with the architects provided

Campus Master Planning services for the preparation

of the Centennial Master Plan for Southern Methodist

University. The master plan built upon the campus’

strong tradition of collegiate Georgian architecture

organized around traditional quadrangle open spaces

to create flexible framework for expansion and new

development for the next twenty-five years and

served as the planning tool for a $350 million capitol

endowment program. Since it’s adoption, the master

plan has guided the design and location of all new

campus projects, including the renovation of Perkins

Chapel, the expansion of the library complex and the

creation of a proposed Science building and a new

Student Services Center.
