What is Stratification?

The Formation Of Different Layers Of Temperature Within Your Building

• Heat From Ground Level Rises, Heating The Ceiling• The Hot Air Gathers Where It Is Not Desired Or Used• Increased Temperature Difference From Inside to Outside (Delta T) Accelerates Heat Loss From Building• The Cool Air Populates The Lower Levels Where Heat Is Most Desired• Poor Heating and Cooling Efficiencies Cost £££’s• More Heat = More CO2 Emissions

Radiators; Possibly the most well known heating system

Good for heating low ceiling buildings such as • domestic • smaller office spaces

Not good for large spaces as output is insufficient

What is Stratification?

The most common form of heating for large spaces.

Vents are angled to provide direction for air movement

Powerful fans push the air in to room

The heat rises when it runs out of velocity

What is Stratification?

An expensive addition to Gas Fired heating to install and run

Vents are angled to provide airflow direction

Provides the heat to more areas within building

Heat again rises when it runs our of velocity

Uses a significant amount of additional energy to drive warm air around ducting

What is Stratification?

What is Destratification?

Temperature Equalisation

• Reaches Thermostat Set Point Quicker• Maximises Heating and Cooling Efficiencies• Maintains a Comfortable Environment • Reduces Delta T – Maximising The Buildings Efficiency• Reduces Energy Consumption• Reduces CO2 Emissions• Saving £££’s
