The work plan combined African American history with art-making workshops to help teen participants explore the theme “Black August”, a celebration of black history in the month of August. *Instructed art workshops and guided teen participants of different skill levels in developing a zine to be distributed at the organization’s culminating Annual Black August Art Exhibition. *Designed art exhibition flyer and other online promotional items. Taught teen participants grassroots strategies in promotion and marketing for the event. *Curated the Annual Black August Art Exhibition (2011) with works from over 20 artists of color.
