• Ballywalter Game and Country Fair (May5) - The Agency brought an Ulster-Scotselement to the day by providing ashowcase of traditional music to thecrowd of 17,000.
• Lisburn City Council’s Mayor’s Family FunDay (May 12) - a joint showcase of musicand dance.
• Balmoral Show (May 16-18) - The NorthSouth Language Board had a jointmarketing exhibition space at the show,and the Agency showcased a range ofUlster-Scots cultural activity.
• Northern Ireland Countryside Festival,Moira Demesne (May 26 & 27) - Thisfestival was a huge success with 18,000visitors over the two days. Entertainmentincluded performances by traditionalUlster-Scots group Family Folk andAppalachian music performed by TheBroken String Band.
• Lurgan’s Centenary Annual Show (June 2)- County Down based Family Folkentertained the crowds throughout theday and were joined by Kelly ForsytheSchool of Highland Dancing and a solopiper.
• Family Fun Day, Stormont Estate (June 4)- For the third year running the Agencyworked in partnership with Foras naGaeilge to provide a joint Ulster-Scots andIrish showcase of music and dance at theevent.
• Ulster-Scots Day and summerprogramme of entertainment at WallacePark (June 30-August 26) - The Ulster-Scots Agency showcased musicalperformances, a cookery demonstration,poetry reading and a Highland dancedisplay.
• July Celebrations Concert (July 7) - TheAgency supported the July CelebrationsConcert at the Burnavon Arts & CulturalCentre in Cookstown.
• Dalriada Festival, Glenarm (July 13 & 14)- Three Ulster-Scots groups performedduring the two days, including ‘TheBroken String Band’, ‘Ulster Folk’ and‘Family Folk’.
• Ulster Fleadh Dungiven (July 27 & 28) -This was the first time Ulster-Scotstraditions have been included in theUlster Fleadh and as a result of thesuccess of the performances and thepositive response received, it is hopedthat Ulster-Scots entertainment willfeature strongly in the 2013 event beingheld in Derry-Londonderry as part of theCity of Culture celebrations.
• Summer programme of Ulster-Scotsentertainment at Cockle Row Cottages,Groomsport (July 29-September1) - Theprogramme included piping displays,fiddle workshops and Ulster-Scottraditional music.
• Milwaukee Irish Fest (August 16-19) -The Agency promoted Ulster-Scots (orScots-Irish as it is referred to in the US)culture by having a marketing stand in thefestival’s ‘Cultural Area’. It also ran aseries of historical talks on BelfastShipbuilding and the Titanic by GordonLucy in the event’s Hedge School.
• Belfast Culture Night (September 21) -Entertainment was provided by ‘FamilyFolk’ and included traditional highlanddance displays by Kelly Forsythe.
