I chose to house my writing content for this class on a blog site, WordPress, because I plan on building it as my portfolio throughout my career. I like the customizability of WordPress and wanted experience using the functions and layout of the site. It’s also easy to share all my content just my providing the link, and the site has social media sharing buttons as well as comment boxes for feedback. I also integrated my Twitter feed to cross-promote my social media sites.

Building CommunityCoulee Parenting Magazine Project

For our Coulee Parenting Magazine social media plan, I focused on building local community involvement via Twitter. On Twitter, I suggested #FamilyFunFridays, where parents could share photos of their family participating in an activity that can be found on Coulee Parenting Connection’s Family Fun Calendar. I also suggested #ParentChat, a weekly one hour chat curated by Coulee Parenting, where parents can respond to questions posed by Coulee’s Twitter account in an interactive chat environment.
