SK180 Chamber Installation Guideline
•Uponarrivaltotheprojectsite,visuallyinspectthechamberstoensureaccuratequantities.Anydamagethatmayhaveoccurredduringtransportshouldalsobenotedatthistime.
•Forefficientshippingandtoalloweaseinhandlingandstorage,thechambersarestackedneatlyuponthemselvesandsecuredtoapallet.Unloadingisbestaccomplishedviaforklift.
•Chambersshouldbestoredinanareathatisflatandfreeofdebris.Toavoidthepotentialfordamage,thisstorageareashouldbeisolatedwellawayfromthetravelingpathsusedforconstructionvehicletraffic.
•Usingtheprojectplansandtheappropriatedetails,excavatethechambersystembedinamannertosufficientlyaccommodatethechambersandmanifolds.Toensureanadequatefit,andtoallowforastoneborder,anadditional12”ofexcavationisrequiredbetweenthetrenchsidewallsandthechambersystem.
• Ifstandingwaterispresent,dewateringmeasuresshouldbeutilized.
• Ifasoft,unstablefoundationisencountered,itshouldbeoverexcavatedandreplacedwithasuitablematerialasdeterminedbytheprojectengineer.
•Uponthepreparedfoundation,placea4oz.nonwovenfabriconthebedbottomandupandalongthesidewalls.Maintaina24”overlapoffabricatallseams.
•Usingtheprojectplansandappropriatedetails,providealevelbaseof¾”-2”cleancrushedangularstoneovertheentiretrenchbedbottom.Foundationstonedepthasindicatedontheprojectplans(minimum9”).See Fig-ure 1.Usingavibratoryroller,compactthestonebasetoachieveaflatlevelsurface.
• Ifspecifiedontheprojectplans,theperimeterunderdrainpipingmaybelaidatthispoint.

•Endcapsareplacedwiththeendcapoverlappingthetopofthereducedsizejoiningcorrugation.Theendcapshouldbeheldinplacebyscrewsduringbackfilloperations.
