COMENIUS Visit to Torun, Poland, May 2014

Ten schools from nine countries visited Torun, Poland, for the May 2014 COMENIUS meeting.

Here are some photos taken by the Turkey representative, Barry Teacher. Brief descriptions of

the photos are at the end of the presentation.

Key to the Pictures1 Title2 Introduction3 Introduction4 I flew with LOT Polish Airlines to Warsaw Airport.5 It was a short journey to Warsaw Central train station. Here is the lobby.6 My train to Torun was at 16:30. Can you see it on the information board?7 I arrived at the Mercure Hotel in Torun in the evening.8 Here is my room.9 I met my CORMENIUS colleagues and we had dinner together.10 Here is my dinner. It was delicious!11 And here is a selfie.12 Torun is a beautiful old town.13 Torun has many historic buildings…14 …many cafes and restaurants…15 …a big cinema…16 …a chemist’s…17 …a lot of supermarkets…18 …and an outdoor market.19 We visited a Gingerbread Museum…20 …to see how gingerbread is made.21 We had a go at making gingerbread biscuits.22 We ate them fresh from the oven.23 The next day we visited Kindergarten No.5.24 Some of the children performed a play for us. It was ‘The Enormous Turnip’.25 Another class danced traditional Polish dances for us.

28 Everybody clapped, cheered and was happy.

29 There are ten schools from nine countries in our COMENIUS group.

43 And I was given a souvenir gingerbread heart to take home to Turkey.
