Side Of Play-Doh!!
The variables we tested were…
• Water pH and conductivity
• pH of the surrounding soil
• Tree inventory
We measured the soil pH and inventoried the
trees at 5, 10, 15, and 20 feet from the tree
line.

• The farther the sample is from the body of water, the lower the pH
• Various things affect the pH of the soil and the water• There was a lower conductivity at the pond than the bay• There were no ecologically meaningful differences in the pH of
the two bodies of water• Under coniferous trees, soil tends to be more acidic
