PrincipalFlutistoftheMetropolitanOperaOrchestrafrom1977until his retirement in 2008, Michael Parloff has been heardregularly as a recitalist, chambermusician, and concerto soloistthroughoutNorthAmerica,Europe,andJapan.Hehascollaboratedwith such noted artists as James Levine, Jessye Norman,JamesGalway,PeterSerkin,DawnUpshaw,ThomasHampson,Jaime Laredo, and the Emerson String Quartet and hasperformedonnumerousoccasionsatTheChamberMusicSocietyofLincolnCenter.

As a lecturer, conductor, and teacher, Mr. Parloff hasappeared at major conservatories and university musicschools in the United States and abroad. These venues includeMusic@Menlo,Tanglewood,andtheNationalOrchestralInstituteattheUniversityofMaryland.HehasbeenafacultymemberattheManhattanSchoolofMusicsince1985.

topromotetheappreciationandunderstandingofclassicalmusicinNorthernNewJerseybypresenting theworld’sfinest singersand instrumentalists in affordable, innovatively programmedpublicconcertsandeducationalevents.Inrecentseasons,ParlanceChamber Concerts has presented such renowned artists as theEmerson String Quartet, pianists Richard Goode and SimoneDinnerstein, Met Opera singers Stephanie Blythe, ThomasHampson,MatthewPolenzani,andNathanGunn,andflutistJamesGalwayandclarinetistRichardStoltzman.

Since 1996 Michael and his wife, Inmo, have also presentedover30benefit concerts for variousnonprofitorganizations andhumanitariancausesinNorthernBergenCounty,NewJersey.
