SHAPING THE FUTURE
ACTING TOGETHER
SHAPING THE FUTURE - key messages -
We do more than wood!
1. Natural forest management is unique and very different from other natural resource management approaches, integrating social, environmental, economic and regulatory landscapes into Intact Forest Landscapes. Forest operations in the tropics produce timber products loaded with rural development benefits and environmental conservation
2. We need to serve goals together, for a global well-being, the full range of socio-economic benefits as well as the environmental maintenance and conservation, ensuring INTACT FOREST LANDSCAPES in natural tropical forests in Africa
3. The future depends on the ECONOMIC VIABILITY of the forest industry. This is in danger. A common ACTION PLAN needs to be established in short term uniting Local Governments, Collaborative Partnerships on Forests, FAO, ITTO, ATIBT and the private timber industry.
We need to do it together!
