business communication

How to overcome challenges in seven steps?

First step - Attitude

• Develop a right attitude

• ATTITUDE is everything (100%)

• Total of ATTITUDE (1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5) is 100

• Be a good listner

Second Step – Self confidence

• Develop a confidence within you.

• Believe that you have wings and you are capable of flying

• Read the books of great achievers

• Develop positive thinking

Third step - Planning

• Plan first what you want to write or speak. (like mother In the kitchen)

• Focus on the theme (eg: generic topic like environment pollution to be reduced to pollution due to vehicles, if possible to the specific area)

Fourth Step - Preparation

• Do homework. Collect the relevant materials.

• Do not ignore any material that is relevant.

Fifth step - organise

• Understand your audience who receives your communication.

• Organise the speech or writing as per sequence(out of the materials gathered)

Sixth step - Delivery

• Writing or speaking should be structured properly.

• Clarity, choice of words, brevity

• Word count or time factor

Sixth step - Delivery

• Make your communication audience centric and interesting.

• Feedback from audience (readers reaction, non verbal cues, etc.)

Seventh Step - Practise

• Practise communication – listening, reading, speaking, writing and even silence.

• Read the newspapers daily and listen to news bulletins.

• Avoid ‘Tanglish’. Learn to respect the language.

Seventh step - Practise

• Do not use abbreviations or slangs in writing.

• Spend minimum time on facebook/twitter – Open blogs and learn writing. Blogs are best tools.

• Speak in the seminars organised in the college and outside.

Finally

Opportunities are available in plenty around us. Do not ignore. Search

for them. Grab them to take advantage.
