CIRCULATION/READING PROMOTION

Number of books circulated in September: approx. 590Last year: 330

Student independent visits: 255

*Circulation greatly increased due to NWEA not being held in the library in September.

Upcoming events: The first Lunch Bunch will take place on Monday, October 15. A librarian from the public library will be conducting book talks and a craft for students during lunchtime.

TECHNOLOGY

The media center blog and Google calendar continue to be used and updated. We will continue working with Skype this year. Emily Hawrylko and I will be

collaborating on another virtual author visit. The district media specialists are currently researching alternatives to the

Infocentre circulation system.

Concerns

- Many students have expressed an interest in stopping by the library after school to check out books. I am on bus duty in the afternoon, so the library is not available to them.
