Finding Averages• The following is a table showing how many hours Ms.
Clark played video games during a given week in summer:
• Using this data, what is the average number of hours Ms. Clark played video games a day?

Finding Averages
•To find the average, we add all of the numbers in the data set and divide by the total numbers in the set.
•Ms. Clark played an average of 2 hours of
video games a day.
Adding Fractions
1. Make sure the denominators (bottom numbers) are the same.
2. Add the numerators (top numbers).
3. Simplify the fraction (if needed)
Converting Fractions to Decimals•Use your calculator!•Round to the nearest hundredth place.

Converting Decimals to Percentages
1. Move the decimal point two places to the right.
2. Add a % sign to signify that it is a percent.
Ex. 1: 0.05= 5%
