Senator Wrasse

Senator Wrasses live amongst the kelp and algae of rocky reefs. They remain close to the seafloor, wriggling their way amongst the seaweed fronds. Males are bright green with two wide red-brown horizontal stripes along the body. Females are the same shape but are uniform orange-brown. Narrow iridescent lines outline the position of the male’s horizontal stripes. As for all wrasses, all are born female.
