WHAT IS A SELF-EVALUATION?

•It is a requirement and service provided by the IB Organization to IB World Schools

What is the aim?

•To ensure on a regular basis that standards and practices of the programmes are being maintained

What are the standards and practices?

•It is the document used by schools and the IB to ensure quality and fidelity in the implementation of its programmes

What are the expectations?

•It is expected that the school makes a commitment towards meeting all the standards, practices and programme requirements

•To determine its own assessment of the implementation of the programme

•To identify major achievements during the period under review and to identify practices that need further development

What are the expectations?

•It is a process of formal reflection involving all stakeholders within the school community

•It provides an opportunity to pause and reflect honestly on achievements and new initiatives

Planning the self study

Who will be responsible for organizing the process?

•The IBDP Coordinator: Omar Ugalde

Who is involve in this process?

•Members of the governing body

•administrators

•teaching and non-teaching staff

•students

•parents

What is expected from the stakeholders

• To meet in regular bases

• Reflect on the acomplishments and things that we need to work

• Understand the assessment descriptors

• Present Evidence for the Section that they were assigned

• Meet in regular basis with the IBDP Coordinator

• Team Work

• Analyze all the findings and discuss outcomes

How is divided the Self Study questionare?

•It is divided in three major sections:

•Section A: Philosophy

•Section B: Organization

•Section C: Curriculum

Section C must be completed by IB

Timeline

Meeting dates

•We will meet as a group or by Department on Wednesdays after the Faculty meeting.

•If there is no faculty meeting we will use the whole meeting time

•I will be sending e-mails to let you know the agenda and if it is a full IB meeting or by departments

•Complete Section C from the Programme evaluation guide and self-study questionnaire

•Section C is divided in four standards:

•Standard C1: Collaborative planning

•Standard C2: Written Curriculum

•Standard C3: Teaching and Learning

•Standard C4: Assessment
