DIRECT SCHOOLS ADMISSION (JUNIOR COLLEGES)

Allows students to seek admission to a junior college (JC) on the basis of talents and achievements that may not be demonstrated at the GCE ‘O’ Level Examination To develop the students in either academic or non-

academic programmes Selection criteria (may differ)Eg. Portfolio, Secondary school results, CCA records,

Character references, Interviews, Tests, or Trials.

EARLY ADMISSION EXERCISE (POLY) EAE is an admissions exercise that allows students to apply and

receive conditional offers for admission to polytechnic based on their aptitudes and interests before taking their O-Level exams.

Admissions Criteria for O-Level students You have to meet the following admissions criteria: Obtain a net ELR2B2 aggregate score of 26 points or better for

the O-level exams, and Minimum Entry Requirements for the polytechnic course you

have been offered

EARLY ADMISSION EXERCISE (POLY)Selection Criteria Shortlisted applicants will be assessed on evidence/demonstration of

interest and aptitude which may include: Portfolio of works Work attachments and sustained involvement in course-relevant projects Participation in competitions, relevant programmes and CCAs Awards, achievements, positions or roles assumed within as well as

outside of School Performance in aptitude test/interview Participation in Advanced Elective Modules (AEMs) offered by polytechnics

POLY FOUNDATION PROGRAMME (PFP) The PFP is a one-year programme specially designed for the top

‘N’ Level (Academic) cohort. Instead of continuing with the ‘O’ Level examinations in Secondary 5, students can join a Polytechnic as part of this programme to prepare themselves for their pre-selected diploma course. Raw ELMAB3 aggregate score at the GCE ‘N’ Levels of 12 points

or better starting 2018

ELMAB3 = English Language + Mathematics + Best 3 subjects (which also include one of the relevant subjects based on either Group 1 or Group 2 courses)

ITE DIRECT POLY PROGRAMME (DPP)

Top 11% to 30% of 4NA To qualify:

Eligibility criteria: ELMAB3 ≤19 A minimum grade 3 or 4 for EL (depends on course) A minimum grade of 4 for Math A minimum grade of 5 for best three subjects.

a) student's overall academic performance and whether they meet the set criteria

b) availability of places for each subject combination

c) demand of places for each subject

2. The class / course will not be offered if less than 10 students opt for the subject combination
