• Preference for sons– Asian society – Patriarchal society

• Need for farm labour– Agriculture based economy (Low technology)

• Better medical & health care– Less infant mortality rate– Availability of immunization– Nutritional knowledge– More trained doctors & nurses– Better & modern medical equipment
