IntroductionDirect View LCD Video Wall Displays are the
next generation of indoor large format displays
that feature incredible image quality in a
seamless, bezel free design. Narrow pixel pitch

Note: There are no industry standards and resolutions for Ultra-Fine Pitch Direct View LED tiles and cabinets. All manufacturers have different tile sizes and resolutions, as well as different cabinet sizes and resolutions. The maximum pitch considered narrow pitch or fine pitch continues to decline.

Answer: Depends who you ask Some vendors understate this distance.
Divide by 2 rule:4.0 mm pitch / 2 = 2 m or 6.5 ft1.5 mm / 2 = .75 m or 2.5 ft

Considerations When Planning & Designing LED Video Wall Displays
When considering LED Direct View technology for video
wall applications, there are three key factors:
The first is Pixel Density which can affect viewing distance
and image quality. The smaller the pixel pitch and tighter
pixel density, the better the image will look at close
distances.
Which brings us to the second key factor, Viewing Distance.
It is important to know the shortest distance from the
viewer to the video display so your designer or AV
integrator can select the best pixel pitch and components
for the system that will produce optimal image quality.
The third factor is Cost Per Meter2. There are many ways to
calculate the cost of an LED video wall. Especially with so
many different vendors and non standard tile and cabinet
sizes. Always make sure to calculate the actual cost per
meter2.

Efficient and Easy Installation & Service
Other factors to consider are system installation and service costs. Direct View LED video wall cabinet mounting brackets should provide multiple axis adjustment points that fine tune each display for a smooth, seamless appearance. Also front service access reduces additional installation costs for additional wall framing construction.
Also consider an off-board electronic architecture that moves the system power supplies, controllers, and media players away from the video wall display. This reduces the need to mount electronic hardware behind the display, which dramatically reduces fan noise and heat at the display. This also provides easy access for service and maintenance to the electronic components, which helps keep service and maintenance at a minimum. In addition, off-board electronics allows for redundant power supply , video source and cabling that ensures uninterrupted system operation.
LED video wall cabinets come in different sizes. A larger cabinet, like a 54” diagonal, allows for better alignment and faster installation since there are fewer factory aligned panels to install.
