Evacuation
Addressing Five Areas of Response
Lockout Lockdown Reverse Evacuation Emergency
School building(s) are unsafe, staff and students leave the building(s) and assemble at predetermined points
Examples: Earthquakes, gas leak, bomb threat, flood or fire
External threat exists in the vicinity of the school, while students are outside of the school building
Examples: Return to the school building after an evacuation or as an initial procedure proceeding a Lockout
Normal school operations continue while monitoring an event outside of the school
Examples: Suspect loose in the community, weather related emergency
An immediate threat inside or directly outside the school facility
Examples: Armed intruder or non-custodial parent inside the building
Normal school operations continue while an isolated emergency is addressed within the school premises
Examples: Student medical emergency that requires first responders
