Theme:

“Antarctic Biology: it’s all a matter of scale”

About the symposium

• highlight the importance of cross-disciplinary approaches

• help the SCAR community improve its understanding of the processes underlying the structure and function of Antarctic living systems, from gene to ecosystem, with an emphasis on spatio-temporal trends

• opportunity to consolidate the community, and create new bindings between SCAR biologists and the society (outreach)

• show the results of the new SCAR programmes, AntEco and AnT-ERA

• strong implication of the Belgian Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS Belgium)

Brussels, Royal Academy of Sciences…a palace built in the beginning of the 19th century for the Prince of Orange, in the middle of downtown Brussels. The meeting rooms were very recently refurbished.
