THE MINDSET OF AS E R V A N T

1 Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,

PHILIPPIANS 2:1-11 (NASB)

2 make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.

PHILIPPIANS 2:1-11 (NASB)

3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;

PHILIPPIANS 2:1-11 (NASB)

4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

PHILIPPIANS 2:1-11 (NASB)

5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,

PHILIPPIANS 2:1-11 (NASB)

6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,

PHILIPPIANS 2:1-11 (NASB)

7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.

PHILIPPIANS 2:1-11 (NASB)

8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

PHILIPPIANS 2:1-11 (NASB)

9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,

PHILIPPIANS 2:1-11 (NASB)

10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

PHILIPPIANS 2:1-11 (NASB)

11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

PHILIPPIANS 2:1-11 (NASB)

Servants think in terms of maintaining unity.

1 Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,PHILIPPIANS 2:1-2 (NASB)

2 make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.

PHILIPPIANS 2:1-2 (NASB)

The Spirit only works in unity.

1 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,

EPHESIANS 4:1-3 (NASB)

2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, 3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

EPHESIANS 4:1-3 (NASB)

Servants think in terms of serving others not merely themselves.

3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;

PHILIPPIANS 2:3-4 (NASB)

4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

PHILIPPIANS 2:3-4 (NASB)

27 Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

JAMES 1:27 (NASB)

To forget the grace of God is to lose a servant’s heart.

13 For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love, serve one another.

GALATIANS 5:13 (NASB)

Servants think in terms of their new position

in Christ.

5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,

PHILIPPIANS 2:5-8 (NASB)

6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,

PHILIPPIANS 2:5-8 (NASB)

7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.

PHILIPPIANS 2:5-8 (NASB)

8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

PHILIPPIANS 2:5-8 (NASB)

Servants think in terms of true greatness.

9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,

PHILIPPIANS 2:9-11 (NASB)

10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

PHILIPPIANS 2:9-11 (NASB)

11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

PHILIPPIANS 2:9-11 (NASB)

TRUE GREATNESS IS DIVINE EXALTATION.

FALSE GREATNESS IS HUMAN EXALTATION.

22 Slaves, in all things obey those who are your masters on earth, not with external service, as those who merely please men, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.

COLOSSIANS 3:22-24 (NASB)

23 Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,

COLOSSIANS 3:22-24 (NASB)

24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

COLOSSIANS 3:22-24 (NASB)
