Current Situation

• Energy Usage:– Electricity: 865379 kWh– Gas: 154239 nm3

• Energy Audit performed in 2007 resulted in numerous technical solutions for energy efficiency.

• Due to monumental status, most physical changes to the building are not allowed!

Experimental Design

• Constraints:– No physical changes to the building– Fit within the budget from project proposal

• The experiment in the Save Energy Project:– 5 rooms equipped with sensors– 1 room is reference; 4 rooms will be influenced:

– Screens with actual usage– Information on the portal– Serious Game

• Experimental User Group:– 5 backoffice rooms with 2 employees

Implementation Sensor Plan

• Per room:– Temperature sensors (room temperature, temperature of the heating)– Electricity sensors (for every major device)

Next Steps

• Implementation– Train / inform the employees

• Analysis– Data Mining

Open Challenges

• How to reward / stimulate the users to use less energy.
