“Then Is Now” A Book Study
Pastor Wayne Viereck will lead a

Now. This book shows us an exciting

about the New Testament but will fire you up and in-
spire you to look further into the Gospels.

24, and 31 at 10:00am in the Worship Center in
Oro Valley. Then and Now can be purchased on Ama-

As you know,
Resurrection Lutheran Child Development Center
partners with ACSTO, an organization dedicated to
supporting private Christian schools like ours through
tax credit scholarships.
We need your help! Did you know that anyone
who pays Arizona taxes can make a donation to AC-
STO to support our school or other private Christian
schools in our area?
By making a donation to ACSTO, you can receive a
dollar for dollar credit on your Arizona state income
taxes, up to the stated maximums or your actual tax
liability, whichever is less. Please help us to give the gift
of a Christian Education to our children!
You can make your donations at www.acsto.org or
pick up a flyer in the church/school offices.

The Adventures of Martin and Katie Luther and Jesus!
Dear friends,
It has been a while since I last traveled and was so excited to
take a trip back home to Israel with Bruce and Dorothy An-
derson last month, who spent three days traveling the path of
my ministry. We passed through many cities where I
preached the Gospel to the multitudes, visited Mt. Carmel
and Nazareth, the Yardenit Baptismal site on the Jordan and
Capernaum Church of the Beatitudes on the Galilean hillside.
In the city of Jerusalem, we stopped to admire the beautiful
view of The Old City, where Dorothy and I took a photo op
with the Dome of the Rock in background. I had such a good
time visiting my old stomping grounds with Bruce and Doro-
thy, whom I would like to thank for taking me along! If you
are planning any travels soon and wouldn’t mind me or my
good friends Martin and Katie Luther tagging along, please contact Pastor Al at reval@orovalley.org to see if we are
available!
Resurrection Quilting Bee
The Quilting Bee at Resurrection will
meet this Friday, December 14. This
group meets on the first and third Fridays
of the month from 10:00am - 2:00pm, in the Music
Room in the Worship Center. Small quilts are made for
patients at Tucson V.A. Hospital and for children being
served at Gospel Rescue Mission. Everyone, regardless
of skill level, is invited to join us! We enjoy our work
and the fellowship that follows. Bring a sack lunch, and we'll have the coffee pot on. Questions? Contact Mar-
guerite at 520-797-7311.
Pastor Stephen
Hilding’s

Pastor Stephen, former Intern Pastor at Resurrection,
and Annie have returned to Tucson! Pastor Stephen is
serving as the Associate Pastor at Tanque Verde Lu-
theran Church. His Installation Service at TVLC will
take place on January 19 at 5:00pm. All are welcome
to attend and show your support for Stephen and An-
nie!

mond and Laura Lentner.

cember issue of ‘Gather’ magazine.

into our fears and is present in the hardest parts of our lives.
Won’t you please join us as we celebrate our Christmas
gathering in Billie Marie’s comfortable, warm and loving
home? Please contact her at 305-1261 if you would like

Resurrection (Oro Valley & SaddleBrooke)
has Life Groups actively meeting,
forming and others being considered
for future launch.
Life groups are in need of support help.
Please prayerfully consider being a servant to
the Life Group Ministry as:
Facilitator to lead a group. No experience neces-
sary other than maybe knowing how to make a pot
of coffee and play a video.
Become a team member to the Life Group Min-
istry. The existing team needs additional individuals
to help organize and manage the ministry.
Life Groups will execute a Winter launch for new
groups that are forming and/or open for additional
members during and after services at Resurrection
on January 12-13. Part of this Winter launch will in-
clude sign up sheets to join group(s) as well as invite
the congregation to visit the Life Group library lo-
cated in Luther’s Lair.
The Life Hiking Group of Resurrection Lutheran Church
enjoyed a 3.8 mile round-trip hike to Alamo Falls in Catalina
State Park. The temperature was pleasant, many wildflow-
ers and shrubs were identified by guide Elisabeth Wheeler,
and the views were spectacular! During snack time at the
falls, Alan Feddersen provided a thoughtful message about
Christmas based on the Charlie Brown Christmas sto-
ry. Our Christ-centered fellowship was enhanced by Alan’s
message and the sharing during the hike.
To join the Life Hiking Group email:
Elisabeth Wheeler hikerelisabeth@gmail.com, or
Cathy Nolan cathy.nolan@roche.com, or Alan Feddersen
afeddersenlouis@yahoo.com. You will receive information
about the group and upcoming hikes being offered.
