IDEA (1991) defines AT as any item, piece of equipment, or product system, whether acquired commercially, off the shelf, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve functional capabilities of children with disabilities.

Unit 9 Project: Part I
Unit 9 Project is due on Tuesday, February 15th.
Part I: Use the Kaplan Library along with your textbook and other outside resources to research three of the following: hearing impairments, blindness and low vision, physical disabilities, health impairments, ADHD, and low-incidence disabilities, which include severe/multiple disabilities, deaf-blindness, and traumatic brain injury. Compare/contrast your choices in a 2-4 page research paper. Please remember to cite your sources.

Notice there are 4-5 Short Term Objectives listed below each Annual Goal. You also may refer to pp. 312-321 in your text “The Exceptional Child: Inclusion in Early Childhood Education”.

Describe at least three considerations essential to deciding what the least restrictive environment would be for Alexis. How would you implement these adaptations?
