Key InnovationsSAP HANA smart data streaming (SDS) capabilities as of SPS 10
Optional deployment option to SAP HANA
Allows to receive events from various sources and capture
data in SAP HANA directly
Streaming node(s) run on their own host(s), but can be simply
configured & monitored through SAP HANA Studio & Cockpit
Various built-in in/out adapters + Adapter Toolkit for custom
adapters
With SPS 10 now allowing for…
• WebSocket connectivity between server and adapters,
client applications and studio – in support of cloud
deployments
• Web Interface to Streaming Server: Enhanced scalability
for IoT scenarios – supporting high message rates and
large number of publishers via http
• New Streaming lite component allows pre-processing of
event streams to be pushed out to gateway devices in
support of IoT; supported on both Intel and ARM
processors, including Raspberry Pi
• Apply continuous query operators to one or more input
streams to produce a new stream, based on query

Key InnovationsSAP HANA System Replication capabilities with and beyond SPS 10
Pure log-based transfer (Continuous log replay)
• No more delta-data transfer necessary
• Initial transfer still necessary as with class. databases
• Network traffic dramatically reduced, initial data transfer
traffic of course still necessary
• Build the foundation for active/active operations
• Beta program after SPS10 planned (~ late summer)
Active/Active Operation
• Read-Only (r/o) reporting on Secondary
• Read-Write (r/w) operation on Primary
• “Continuous log replay” ensures the same content on
Primary and Secondary
• Based on “Pure log-based transfer” feature
