Salford Quays

Theme: Architecture in Salford; Docks, Buildings, Bridges..

Mood Board of Salford Quays

Salford Quays is in an area of Greater Manchester. This area is where Manchester docks used to be so some of the structures show the remainders of the docks.

There are many attractions to the Quays such as; The Lowery, The Imperial War Museum and newly built Media City. There is also an outlet mall, which attracts many people to the area. The Salford Quays is also connected to the Metro Link.

Predicted final outcome

I am going to produce 10 different images of the quays which shows how structures have changed over time.

Galen RowellGalen Rowell used dynamic range to achieve the best landscape photos. He is also very adventurous meaning his photos would also be adventurous. Galen also pursued the best optical shot so that they ‘were in the moment’. He was also interested in the change of light.

Ansel Adams

He was an American photographer took many pictures in Western America. He was also a keen environmentalist. His photos today are reproduced on posters, calendars, postcards and greetings cards. All his photos were taken in black and white as coloured cameras weren’t invented at the time.

that will be used and why The camera I am going to use is a DSLR. These cameras have a high quality needed for my photos.

Techniques that will be used and how they will help convey the visual

message I will take photos of the various ‘land marks’ that quays are known for. I will take a wide range of photos which sums up what the Salford Quays is like.

There is no real risk when it comes to taking these photos.
