UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
The Susan Lockey Seekers Circle and Mary Harvin Discovery Circle will meet on Wednesday, May
8 at 10am in the Skip Holmes classroom. Our speaker will be Martha Worsley, a
representative with MATCH - (Mothers and Their Children) which is an interfaith organization
created to address the needs of children and their incarcerated mothers.
All women are invited to join us!
Our annual yard sale will be held on Saturday, June 1st this year—so begin
thinking about donating all your used items (from small collectibles, small
appliances (working), kitchen utensils, pictures and frames, etc. plus working
electronics and furniture - you name it!) You may bring to church starting
May 20th. We may be able to arrange pick up if needed - just give us a call.

United Methodist Men’s BBQ was held on Friday, April 5. The men’s BBQ fundraiser was a success - net profit was over $5800. Many thanks to all who helped make this a successful
event. Money will be used to fund numerous outreaches for Christ. Next meeting will be Sunday, May 19 at 7:30am. All men are invited to attend and enjoy a great breakfast,

March 31, 2019. Randy is reaffirming his
membership and Sandra is joining by
letter of transfer from Laurinburg Presbyterian
Church.
OUTREACH would like to thank everyone who donated food or helped serve the lunch-eon for EMS and Dispatchers. Everyone at the center appreciated the meal. Saint Luke members are always so willing to help others. May God continue to bless each of you in a mighty way.

STAFF PARISH RELATIONS COMMITTEE On Sunday, April 28 at both services it was announced that our new pastor will be Rev. Thomas Simpson who will begin his service to Saint Luke on June 30, 2019. On April 29th at 7:30, the SPRC met with Rev. Thomas Simpson and Dr. Kenneth Locklear for a meet and greet. On May 2nd Robert Walker and Jo Ann Lea will attend a transitional seminar in Garner along with Rev. Thomas Simpson. Pastor Billy will become the pastor at Benson UMC in Benson, NC. We give thanks to God for the ministry of Pastor Billy who has served among us as our shepherd,
teacher and spiritual guide.
Jeanne Hardee has resigned as our 11am musician and choir director. Jan Cooke, Barbara Morrison, Tracy Thomas and Anne Laviner will fill in as pianist/organist through June 30th.
Habitat for Humanity of Scotland County's Bike to Build and Run to Build Fundraiser. The Saint Luke youth will be manning a table at the Stewartsville Fire Department
with water and snacks for the participants.
