Rooted in the doctrines of the Protestant Reformation. We believe we are saved by grace through faith in
Jesus, that the Bible is the rule for Christian life and faith, and that the Good News of Jesus should be proclaimed
in word and deed.
Sacrament Celebrating. We believe God ministers to the community of believers in unique and special ways
though Baptism and Holy Communion. Liturgically Oriented. We believe remembering the whole life of Christ is important for spiritual maturity. We
follow the church calendar, celebrating seasons like Advent and Lent. Ecumenically Minded. In the context of our heritage, we believe all those who call upon Jesus as Lord will share
in his eternal blessings and so we welcome all believers who join us to participate fully in worship.

Join with us as we congratulate St. John’s Women’s Guild of faithful service to God, St. Johns’ Church, the
Community, the nation and the world.
The “Ladies Aid” Society was established May 10, 1884 and formally changed their name to Women’s Guild in
1941. The Guild was instrumental in transforming an old school building into a parsonage. In the 1920’s they
contributed over $7,500 towards the present church and during construction of the parsonage donating over
$6,000. In more recent years, the Guild sponsors a couple of on-going projects in Kenya, Whit’s Place and
sponsors a child at Brittney’s Home. Each year at Christmas they deliver fruit baskets and cookies to homebound
and shut in members.

What Did You Expect? –Redeeming the Realities of Marriage Rev. John Richter
What Did You Expect? Challenges you to look into the mirror of God’s Word and see yourself with clarity.
Maybe it’s you. Maybe you love yourself more that your spouse. Maybe you love your little kingdom more than
God’s big Kingdom. When you reach that level of honesty, you’re at the edge of real good things for your
marriage.
THRIVE— Facilitators: Tammy Knight and Carla Crimm
Epistle of Paul to the Philippians teaches that God did not create us merely to exist or to be dutiful workers, but to
thrive in a life of joy. Prayer is an opportunity to experience joy. The fact that Jesus has forgiven us produces joy.
And sharing that fact with others produces even more joy. Finally, when we focus on Christ and doing His will,
joy and peace will flood our lives as we join God in His work by allowing Him to work through us to benefit
others.
