Nat. 5:
Work on the preparation of Nat.5 assessments (writing and talking)
S4 RME – Term 4
The After-Life
S3 Art – Term 4 Completing the externally assessed Design Portfolio for the National 5 course. This practical
jewellery design will be informed by and linked to critical work, which will in turn form revision
for National 5 written exam.
S4 Music – Term 4
S4 – National 5 Listening revision
Having completed all units, and their Performance Exam, S4 pupils will undertake one
final revision of all National 3/4/5 Listening concepts. Their Listening and Understanding
exam will occur in May and this will be their last chance to revise and ask questions
relating to approximately 200 musical concepts.
S4 Geography and History – Term 4
During the first 4 weeks of this Term students will study the following:
Urban Geography ( 3 Weeks ).
Recent developments that deal with issues in Shanty Settlements in Developing world
cities.
National 4 Coursework: ( 1 Week )
Students will also be involved in preparation work for National 4 Coursework. They will be
required to choose an appropriate geographical topic that will allow research, including individual
fieldwork, to be carried out.
Once transition into S4 has taken place, study will be focused on the following:
Rural Geography
Changes in the rural landscape in developed countries related to modern developments in
farming including diversification, impact of new technology, organic farming, genetically
modified crops & government policy.
Changes in the rural landscape in developing countries related to modern developments in
farming such as genetically modified crops, impact of new technology, bio- fuels.
S4 Health and Wellbeing - Term 4
In health and wellbeing, S4 will work on their XL portfolios in an effort to complete the Team
Work unit, to gain enough credits to achieve their award. They will also have time to use for
exam preparation, to discuss techniques for dealing with exam stress and revision.
S4 PE – Term 4
Secondary pupils will be participating in athletics and striking and fielding games this term,
weather dependant. Pupils will be introduced to, and develop specific athletic skills including
throwing, jumping and running. Adaptations and variations of games such as cricket, rounders
and softball will hopefully be enjoyed in the sun.
