Recruitment TeamOnce you have registered your interest in looking for a pub with Enterprise you
will be assigned your own dedicated recruitment team member who will offer all
the help and support you need.
Regional ManagerYour Regional Manager is one of your main contacts at Enterprise. They will
offer you professional business advice including keeping you up to date with
the latest trade building & marketing initiatives and product deals.
Training TeamWe are committed to providing relevant and industry leading training support for
both new and highly experienced publicans. We provide training days as well as
online training options for you and your team.
Property Team Our Property Team is committed to ensuring the pubs we offer for let are fit
for purpose and that our publicans are given every opportunity to maximise
the trading potential of their pub. To help our publicans manage their property
responsibilities we have developed a range of property support services. We
also provide a 24 hour property helpline.
Marketing TeamOur Marketing Team will provide you with advice, support and kits to help drive
footfall and sales in your pub. You will find inspiration and some great product
deals in your regular copy of Deals & Ideas.
Customer Account ManagerA dedicated Customer Account Manager will contact you at a specified time
each week to take your drinks order. You can now also register to order online.
Credit Control ManagerOur Credit Control Team are here to assist you with managing your account on a
day-to-day basis and provide support with copy invoices and statement queries.
This information is also readily available, when you become a publican with
Enterprise, in your online account.

Our agreementsChoose the right agreement for you
Retail Partnership Tenancyn Shorter agreements for a fixed term of 3 or 5 years which
are contracted out of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
n Enterprise is responsible for all repairs to the exterior structure and services
n Rent is subject to annual indexation by reference to the Retail Price Index
n Option to be free of tie on wines, spirits, minerals, packaged lager and
packaged cider via tie release fees
Partnership Tenancy Plus n Shorter agreements for a fixed term of 5 years which are contracted out of the
Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
n Enterprise is responsible for all repairs and decorations and will contribute up
to £1,000 annual maintenance fund
n Enterprise are willing to co-invest with you on a £1 for £1 ‘matched’ basis,
in the amount of between £2K to £10K on retail focussed investment twice
during your agreement
n Rent is subject to annual indexation by reference to the Retail Price Index but
is capped at 2%
n Free of tie on wines and spirits and have the option to be free of tie on
minerals, packaged lager and packaged cider via tie release fee s
Beacon Retail Partnership Tenancyn Competitive local retail prices and guaranteed gross profit margins
n Enterprise will redecorate and refurbish the property
n You will receive ongoing marketing and retail standards support
n Greater levels of support for you and your business
n You will operate on an initial Tenancy At Will agreement for up to 12 weeks.
You can then change to a fixed term tenancy of up to 5 years
Commercial Lease (Free of Tie)n Option at selected sites to negotiate a lease that’s Free of Tie for
10 or 20 years
n Fully protected under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, with the right to renew
n You have full responsibility for repairs

Steps to running your own pub
Let’s meet and talkOnce you have chosen a pub, and are ready to
progress, contact our Recruitment team. Our
Recruitment Co-ordinators will be interested to
find out more about you and your ideas for the
pub. We will send you a Pub Business Facts
Pack for your chosen pub and arrange a time for
you to meet the Regional Manager or Divisional
Recruitment Manager.
After the meeting we will both have a clear
idea of what the next steps towards getting
your own pub should be. We will either invite
you to continue your application for your chosen
pub, or suggest a few alternatives for you to
consider. If we agree to continue your application
for a specific pub it’s time to start planning your
pub business.
Fact finding / getting startedOnce you have selected some pubs you are
interested in, you can use our compare feature
to help you draw up a shortlist. We would also
recommend visiting the pubs as a customer to
check they are right for you.

Making your new business a long-term successWe look forward to giving you all the support you
need to grow and develop your business. From
day one, you will have access to free, award
winning training courses, financial and property
management advice and exclusive marketing
and commercial support packages. Your Regional
Manager will be with you every step of the way
and will visit you regularly, especially during your
first months in the pub to make sure you are set
up for long-term success.
Planning for the first few weeks in your pubIt’s almost time for you to start your exciting
career as an Enterprise publican. You will agree
your handover day with your Regional Manager;
this is when you will sign your agreement and
place your first drinks order online.
We will do all we can to help you prepare for
day one, remember that we have some great
‘off the shelf’ pub opening packages which
can be personalised for your pub, including a
free website.
Agreeing your termsYou and the Regional Manager, or Divisional
Recruitment Manager, will discuss your business
plan to shape an agreement that best suits the
needs of your new pub business. The agreed
terms will be summarised in a Pre-Contract Form
to be signed by both parties. Your agreement will
be emailed to you seven days in advance to give
you time to review.
Planning your businessNow it’s time to start thinking about preparing
a marketing plan, together with a business
plan, including a profit & loss account and cash
flow, with an accountant. Our straightforward
template will help guide you through the
information required for this important step.

Personal Licence
Premises licensed to sell alcohol must have
a designated premises supervisor who holds
a personal licence. The licences are designed
to ensure that anybody running or managing a
business, that sells or supplies alcohol will do
so in a professional fashion.
If you are applying you must obtain an
accredited qualification first - for example, a
BII Level II examination certificate or a similar
accredited qualification such as the Award for
Personal Licence (APLH) qualification.

PEAT - Pre-Entry Awareness Training
PEAT provides the learner with all the
information they require in order for them to
make a reasonable judgment and understand
the complexities of the agreement that they
are signing up to.
Training requirements
You will also be required to attend our
three day Building Your Business programme.
This induction course delivers the following
key qualifications: BII Award in Licensed
Hospitality Operations (ALHO), BII Award
in Level 2 Award in Licensed Retailing (ALR) (If
a Personal Licence holder and achieve ALHO
qualification), Level 2 Award in Food Safety
and the BII Award in Beer and Cellar Quality
(ABCQ).
Business planning
You must prepare a detailed business plan
for your pub, including your plans for operating
the business together with detailed profit and
loss and cash flow forecasts. Your business
plan must be approved and signed-off by a
qualified and experienced accountant.
Important information
If you decide to take on an Enterprise pub,
we want you to be well prepared, fully aware
of the contractual relationship that you are
signing up to and confident in the support that
you will receive whilst working in partnership
with the Enterprise team.
