Rotary Spring Walk 2014

@ Waterfall Estates Sunday 14 September

Meet once a week for breakfast to discuss projects, enjoy fellowship and listen to guest speakers

History of the Rotary Spring Walk: Started in 2002 5km, 10km, 15km fun walk held

at Modderfontein, Johannesburg

Last year at Waterfall Estate. Has raised over R 2.4 million for

various projects. Averages over 2000 entries per

year. A fun filled family day Food and refreshments are

available.

Nedbank was formerly the primary sponsor and doubled all monies raised by Rotary. This year we are looking for a new sponsor.

Beneficiaries:Agape Children’s Shelter

New kitchen and refrigeratorsUpgraded bedrooms

Funds raised for Agape = R142 000

This ambitious project cost about R500 000 in funds but with donations, the completed centre is valued at over R750 000

Sefikeng Primary School upgradeSituated in the grounds of Leeukop Prison: We built a kitchen facility, a multi-purpose court, a water-wise vegetable garden and an up-grade of their library.

Deney Van Royen from Protech and President Salman Khan visit the school for an inspection. (16 August)

The event consists of two distances 5 Km & 10 Km.

Discovery Health have agreed to award Vitality points for participation in the event.

Publicity Secured through YFM including a live broadcast on the

day from the Walk. Further publicity will be given by ETV, Radio 702 and

Highveld 94.7 Significant sponsors (R10,000.00 or more) will be included

in all event advertising. Sponsors are more than welcome to bring along their own

branding material.
