OF IRCs USING ICT

May 3, 20231

This is an exercise among the e-sources of information which gave the new face to documenataion. Advent of ICT and internet made far reaching impact in the arena of information science. ICT have become ubiquitous with current and future for the development of IRC. During the past decade rapid development occured in an information pattern, and ICT took place to share the information as WWW; and due to the information explosion search engines on internet occurred. Preservation of knowledge in e-format is particularly important in the era of IT. The role of technologies on vary level is undeniably significant. As the positive effects of ICTs have continually been noted in development of IRCs, ICT provide a broad perspective on the nature of technology and the impact on information system.

Introduction

"Sources" means the origin of something. Information sources may be observations, speeches, documents, pictures etc.

From starting, flow of the information was very slow, because emerged libraries in society were not more than a store house of books, but gradually, especially during the last decade due to ICT the face of library changed and known as Information Resource Centres (IRC). IRC is treated as the nuclei of any organisation, which play a vital role in the development of society or a nation. These nucleis are also known as social institutions, the repositories of information.

E-journals The Encyclopaedic dictionary of Library and Information Science define journals as “the record of proceedings or transactions of a learned society”.
