2-B

“A machine which is capable of complex tasks with little to no operation by humans.” This is how I define a robot.

Tasks• Automated repetitive tasks.• Novelty.• Dangerous tasks.• Tasks not wanted by people.• Automated manufacture.• Replace humans.

“The ArcWorld 6200 easily handles complex applications that require welding in multiple planes. Dual robot (AW6200) workcells are designed for medium- to high-volume production.”

A welding robot in an industrial setting. Works on multiple axes. For speed and precision.

“The AW6000 features a Motoman UP-series arc welding robot, XRC 2001 controller with menu-driven arc welding application software, integrated welding package, AC servo-driven "Ferris wheel" type positioner, operator interface, common platform for programming, and total safety environment.”

Operated by programming terminal.

MQ-1 PREDATOR UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEM

“The MQ-1 Predator is a medium-altitude, long-endurance, unmanned aircraft system The MQ-1's primary mission is interdiction and conducting armed reconnaissance against critical, perishable targets. When the MQ-1 is not actively pursuing its primary mission, it acts as the Joint Forces Air Component Commander-owned theater asset for reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition in support of the Joint Forces commander. “

ASIMO

ASIMO (AKA AWESOME-O) is a humanoid robot created by Honda Motor Company, in 2000. Each one costs less than $1 million to manufacture, and some units are available to be hired out for $166,000.

ASIMO is capable of recognizing many things. Such as moving objects, postures and gestures, environment recognition, distinguishing sounds, and facial recognition.
