Specific Staff Training Requirements:
This Contract in a nut shell is to Service the Automatic door stock of Aberystwyth University and Ceredigion County Council,
throughout Ceredigion, a detailed location chart can be found on electrical estimates Service 1 proposed date Sheet,
The Purpose of these works is to ensure the safe running of all doors, and provide the client with a list of all defective /
obsolete parts within the frame work.
Method of working
1. after being inducted within the offices of electrical estimates, all personnel will ensure all works carried out, will be carried
out in a safe and professional manner, and will in no way effect any other trades in the vicinity of works being carried out or
hinder the day to day workings of the office staff present within the building/s, visiting trades or operatives working within the
designated site, employees will be told that the contract will start with identification of any sensitive works & Areas, and the
engineers will have a tool box meeting on site to run through the contract with the client should this be required. The use of
Barriers and protection of floor coverings where drilling may be required and the engineers will be made aware of the
importance of this, together with safe isolation procedures and the use of lock off kits and complete isolation of Door Sets,
and installation of temporary warning notices and identification notices,
2. Once ready, the Service team will attend the specific site and report to the clients chosen log in point, once satisfied the
engineer/s will attend there place of work, once Parked safely within the designated parking areas, inform the Manager or
Caretaker in attendance of works being carried out together with the length of time the proposed service should Take.
3. Checking of the Asbestos Register, Non Sensitive and paper work are to be carried out in the first instance as to allow the
engineers to get a feel for the site and the working conditions, a Secondary Risk assessment will be carried out by the
Engineer prior to commencement of any works, should they feel there are new Risks present they will inform the Office in the
first instance and all works will be halted until all parties are satisfied.
4. When ready and satisfied the engineer/s will commence to barrier the working position of as to hinder ingress from the
members of public into the proposed working environment.
5. Commencement of the Service contract will begin and Special attention will be observed when working over the
equipment, should there be any concerns, the immediate supervisor from AU or CCC will be informed, and EE engineers will
await for further instruction.
Sequence of Operations:
6, works programme will be as follows
A, Check/Log in to site
B, Arrive at place of work and park safely
C, inform Manager or caretaker of arrival and detail location and length of proposed works.
D, read asbestos register, and carry out non-intrusive paper work
E, Prepare site with barriers and dust sheets, install temporary warning labels and notices at all point leading towards the
proposed works.
F, Carry out Service and checking required within the contract.
G, Once complete re-install all components and housing’s back to the Automatic door
H, Clean Working area, and remove barriers from service,
I, Prepare Service Sheet for issue, and digitally send to the office, for confirmation.
J, Re-energise door and inform Manager / Caretaker all works are complete, explaining is required of any issues the door
may have, and detail any additional that may be required with a second visit needed at a later stage.
Cont:
7, the client will be informed at regular intervals how the testing is proceeding, and of any issues arisen from the work being
carried out, and works requiring a Quotation will be issued within 3 working days.
8, Regular site visits will be carried out by electrical estimates managers to ascertain the programme and to provide the
client with the regular updates.
9. As with all large contracts this summary in not exhaustive, we will update these documents as the contract is rolling along if
we feel amendments or additional RAMS are required.

Method of Access and Egress to the work area:
Vehicles will be parked in the Buildings Car park to the side of the building, and all employees will report to the site reception
and sign in, submission of daily RA’s will be issued to the attending site Forman or attending manger, Egress from site, all
employees will prior to leaving site, report to the site reception, and sign out, any problems on site or special requirements will
be relayed to the site Forman or on duty Manager in the first instance. Any speed restrictions will be adhered to, too and from
the main road.
Fall Protection Measures: If applicable.
Generally high control methods will be in place on all works at height and risk assessed out where possible, Guard Rails/Toe
Boards/Brick Guards/Safety Harnesses/Exclusion Zones, time working on ladders will be restricted to 20mins per session with 10
min breaks unless podium steps are being used on the contract.

All suppliers that are based locally to the contract, in this instance Aberystwyth suppliers, covering, CEF, Edmondson’s, Links,
will be informed of the protocol, and told to inform the site electrician form via telephone, that a delivery is on site and ready
for off-loading, the delivery drivers will be informed that just walking on site will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
