JEAN ANOUILH (Playwright) became one of the strongest personalities of the French theatre during his lifetime. Success came in 1937 with Le Voyageur sans bagage (Traveller Without Luggage), which was soon followed by La Sauvage (1938). He went on to write more than thirty more plays, including Antigone (1944) and Beckett, ou l'honneur de Die u (1959).

After man y years of translating and adapting plays-including Ring Round the Moon, Duel of Angels, and Peer Gynt-Fry wrote A Yard of Sun (1962). He collaborated on several screenplays and wrote plays for both radio and television.
