Friday Post
Our School Value: Forgiveness Friday 20th March 2020
Message from Mrs Parton
Dear All,
Thank you for all your support, understanding and kind offers of help this week. Our CEO, Keith Hollins has said this morning “this period of our modern history is without precedent so there are no rules to cover many of the situations that are occurring”. The world is facing challenging times but it is heartening to see our communities pulling together to care, protect and being kind to each other. The staff have been working tirelessly at St Leonard’s and at All Saints to ensure that the children receive an education that is creative and fun via the many different avenues. Please enjoy this opportunity to learn inside, outside and engage in quality family time too. Have intention - perhaps learn a new skill, listen to different genres of music and move more! Limit screen time. Life is precious!
So let us consider this. A peacock’s tail feathers are irridescent - seen from a certain angle the colours blaze and shimmer with beauty. Many other things in life reveal their qualities when perceived in another way, but often this familiarity makes this difficult to see.
During this uncertain time, let us try to look at everything and everyone with fresh eyes. We can try to embrace the differences we are experiencing, we are looking forward to continue with teaching and learning in a new way for a different world that is here now.
We will keep in touch with you all via Facebook, Twitter, email and text service as this will be our last Friday Post.
Stay safe and love life!
Tracey Parton
For children of keyworkers please ensure the office know your intentions via email please. Children, wearing uniform, can be
cared for during the core hours between 9-3pm. Packed lunches, snacks and drinks MUST be provided from home. It is
important to note one key line in the Government’s FAQs: “Many parents working in these critical sectors may be able to ensure
their child is kept at home. Every child who can safely be cared for at home should be. This is an offer to parents and carers
and there is no requirement for parents and carers to send their children to school if they do not need or wish to do so”

Sensory Room To sign Sensory Room, wiggle your fingers in the air as if touching some
material. Then with your forefinger make a circle motion around your ear. After that using both forefingers make a square in front of you to show a room.
Whilst doing these three signs say the words “Sensory Room”

“Peace be with you!” John 20:19
You may not have much peace in your life right now. All around us, people are ‘reeling’ from the sudden changes brought about by the Coronavirus, and the fear it is spreading. Our school is about to shut. Businesses and livelihoods are under real financial pressure. The elderly and the vulnerable are living with the daily reality of being those who are most at risk from this virus. People are having to cancel weddings and practise ‘social distancing’. At a time when we feel we want to offer comfort to each other we are advised to ‘keep your distance’. But Jesus, right in the midst of this says, “Peace be with you!” God hasn’t abandoned us in this time of crisis. He says, ‘I am with you in it’! Whatever you are going through right now, Jesus has promised to be with you. May God protect and bless you and your family. I’ll be praying for you and if you have any specific prayer requests you can send them to me at mayos32@btinternet.com. My parish has a number of volunteers standing by to help anybody who has to go into isolation. Just let me know if we can help you or somebody you know. Don’t be alone! See you soon. With love, Rev Sue
Keep us, good Lord, under the shadow of your mercy in this time of uncertainty and distress. Sustain and support the anxious and fearful, and lift up all who are brought low; that we may rejoice in your comfort knowing that nothing can separate us from your love in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Class Foxes has been using the ‘Textease Turtle’ programme to programme the on-screen turtle to draw regular polygons (2D shapes with many straight sides). They have learnt how to draw a square turning through 90 degrees, and that all regular polygons can be created by dividing 360 degrees (a full turn) by the number of vertices. Eg. 360/6 = 60 degrees 6 x 60 degree turns will create a hexagon They have also used the repeat command function to replicate their geometric shapes. Learning characteristic achieved = Slinky Linky — linking maths with ICT
